  1. Yes both keys have been initialised. I will talk to the mechanic. What do you think the ticking sound is that I can hear briefly from the steering column. It never did this before we had the problem
  2. Hi, Was using a bmw specialist garage
  3. A couple of weeks ago the remote control and comfort access stopped working on my BMW 2009 120i hatchback. Changed the battery in the fob but no difference. Took it to the repairer and they replaced the comfort access module and still nothing. They suggested a new key fob as we only had one and $600 later still nothing. The only way that we can start the car is by inserting the key fob. When we do this and the car starts I can hear a ticking noise coming from within the steering column which lasts for about 5 seconds. The only way that we can open the car is by using the key blade insert. Can anyone shed any light on this as the repair bill just keeps mounting P.S. I had the original fob checked by a locksmith before taking the car to the repair shop and he confirmed that the fob was sending a signal
