  1. You’re running Michelin’s aye mate. The ps4 ? my car has them. Only a few months old and I find the quite tram line prone.

Sorted the broken drivers seat plastic surround today. Broken either by previous owner or upholstery guys, needless to say the latter didn’t help matters as it seriously deteriorated after they had their hands in it. I ordered a set from Schmeidmann they only come as a pair but the price was reasonable even from Germany. install took about 40 mins including removing the old one and transferring all the switches etc. am now looks super fresh and has all clips and bolts in their rightful place. I noted the thigh support switch was missing a component and was incorrectly assembled (the switch cover itself can only go one way). But the small gold coloured metal pieces can fall out easily if not assembled properly. so I robbed a part from the passenger seat. if anyone has a thigh support switch lying around let me know.
  3. Mean. Car looks so good mate. My e39 is not getting an Xmas thrash this year. Has a funny engine knock sucking sound.

Chrome rings look great Stu. Who is painting your wheels?
  6. P&H suspension looked overthe car this week. couple of issues identified; - loose brake dust sheild ratlting / moving on its bolts - tightened - right lower (strsaightone) control arm balljoint clicking / play - will be replaced next week
  7. Cheers Martin, the wheel "wiggles" when i do that, i can feel play there somewhere. just trying to get it into my local mechanic for a closer look. The shock / spring looks like it might be moving too, which is disconcerting to say the least.....
  8. I don’t have to to take wheel and calliper off today. But jacked the car up to see if giving the wheel a wiggle reveals anything. see vid. that is essentially what I’m hearing but slower and loaded up with car on ground it has a clicking sound or ping to it. The wheel felt loose. All the wheel nuts are tight. IMG_1383.MOV
  9. Yeah I need some help listening / diagnosing. cheers for letting me know about the bearings mate. If I need them I will reach out.
  10. Yeah. But I don’t do that much. So mostly when I’m pulling in /out of a parking space or my garage or driveway.
  11. Is only noticeable when turning the wheel during slow manoeuvring / turning or when coming to an abrupt stop actually. have been doing some searching and a lot of older forum posts mentioned wheel bearing. It been intermittently happening since before I had my brakes done but frequency has increased recently
  12. I have what can best be described as a clicking coming from my drivers front wheel well area. It has been getting louder in the last few weeks. it presents itself when moving off from a stand still or turning the wheels (in either direction) at a stand still or moving slow. And I’m sure I might be able to hear it when driving with the window down. But not sure. I thought it might be cured whe I replaced the rack ends, but no. Could it be wheel bearing or possibly sway bar links. I can’t seen anything obvious. Any ideas guys? @hqstu or @BreakMyWindow in your vast experience have you guys heard such a noise.

More new bits arrived last week, installed this week by Mosens. I'd had a weepy Power Steering suction hose for a while, was tough to adjust as the screw was facing the block, making it impossible to reach to adjust. it was also done up to tight it had split the hose and pissibly crakced the resivour. For <200$ NZ i replaced (including install) a new PS resivour and hoses. now i dont have to top up the fluid each month and the steering feels nicer too.
  14. Lol. This was 15 years ago. No vape crews then.
  15. I wish I hadn’t sold my 1999WRC blue, Subaru WRX STI V-Limited. Faster and lighter than the regular 1999 spec, manual air con flap in the roof, manual centre diff control. Light incredibly fast with shorter gear ratios than a normal V5 sti. Considering what they are worth now amd I sold it for 16k. It makes me a bit sad. But mostly cause it was one of the most engaging cars I’ve ever driven.

Cheers Adro. Yeah Besian has the reputation but charge like crazy! the X8R kit has a lot more gaskets and stuff in it, including anti rattle kit i've not done any of this before but make sense to me to do it all while the engine is open. not that i'll do it myself but rather get my local indi to work on it.

New rack ends left and right in amd all aligned again. Ready for some adventures once we put a stop to the rolling waves of sick kids. only major thing left to do for this car is full wheel refurbishment of the Style 42 wheels. rest is maintenance and enjoying the drives.
