Let me check what I have here - I know I have at least two sets of gears. And if I don't have what you need, I'll forward details of a reliable NZ source.

The only way to be sure what you need is to remove the cluster from your car. VDO clusters do have 'VDO' on the front, but (as was the case with our car) people will replace a non-working cluster with anything they can find. So a VDO-badged cluster may have a Motometer speedo in it. And there is no way to tell without pulling the cluster and checking.

Great. Dad has just told me that the local mechanic has replaced the cluster 2-3 times because the odo gears stopped working, I’ve just told him today to replace the gears.

So we could have anything despite it saying Motometer on the front?

Nothing wrong with Ryobi for automotive, but I do agree the ratchet is a bit big; I have one and wish i didnt buy it. The rattle gun, drill, grinder, torches etc have all done me well.

I have 5 genuine batteries (2x 5ah, 1x 4ah, and two smaller ones), none of them have any issues. Most are 4+ years old now, with regular use.

Glad someone’s had a good run with them, we haven’t.

I'm a sucker for AliExpress cheapies as well. Plastic sh*t like trim removal tools you always wanna get from there. The ones they sell locally are identical and cost 3-4x. Pick tools are another thing I need to grab from there. I've had an endoscope in my cart for a bit but haven't gotten round to doing another order just yet.

Got some mates heading over to Japan this month. I've asked if they could grab me a Koken 3/8 socket set.

Few things to consider from posts here. I still reckon the Ryobi ratchet looks awkward to use, and would pick the Milwaukee M12 high speed ratchet, and Stubby impact wrench to go with it.

    Price from Sulco 😭

That Quickjack was $2299 at Costco.

So a good experience then? That's great to know. What did freight cost if you don't mind sharing, I need the same parts for my non exotic American car and the local agents want over 2k for disks and pads vs $250usd on Rock Auto.

Also. This rant thread is getting a bit too positive TBH, its like 2019 levels of optimism, I don't know if we are ready for this.

Positive experience. And Eagle is right too, sometimes your choice on Rock is limited, but just pick and choose.

I can turn negative real quick though if it makes you feel better as I’m currently 6 floors up in Mercy Ascot hospital recovering from surgery.

Yes FCP still use UPS which generally has longer delivery times. Pelican Parts is not bad. They give you the option to choose between different freight companies - UPS, DHL, FedEx.

Spareto and Turners are good too. Garagistic if you are looking for heavy duty items or speedo gears.

The part description on Spareto is not great but customer service makes up for it.

You just need to cross reference part numbers, easy enough for BMW, harder for Fiat and Mazda.

I bought brake pads/discs and suspension arms for the Mazda, got the pad part numbers wrong, still worked out cheaper than than buying locally even after sourcing new pads.

For sure Jon. Slow is subjective. 0-100 in under 10 seconds used to be impressive, hell, people still buy utes and they cant break the 10 second barrior yet the dickheads who drive them think they are Joachim Winkelhock every time they see a merge lane.  I prefer a 325i to an M3 myself because at least it has some torque.

But call me queer, id take this instead. I'm sure the conversation over bumper air vents at the Porsche meeting would be equally punishing though.

Ha! That or that E30 M3? Gee, let me think for a nano second.

If she lives out near Silverdale this might be hers. As far as compacts go it's been very well looked after, wouldn't be surprised if it's had some money spent on it. Has a few small issues, wiper jets not working and lock cylinder in the door is broken. But both pretty easy fixes.

She listed it cheap and had half a dozen people who said they'd buy it if the sale to me fell through, she couldn't believe the interest there was in it. I'm very glad I happened to be browsing fb marketplace the night she listed it otherwise I would have certainly missed out.

I checked the plate through Carjam as hers had a personalised plate, not hers, although yours did have an interesting plate previously.
