  1. I think you can take the whole emissions thing seriously when you no longer see ex Japan refrigerated trucks being driven around belching black smoke. I assume they will do this at some stage which will be interesting for all the egr/dpf delete folk.

I concur with your assessment.  On the new SH1 m'way heading north from Auckland over the peak holiday period Waze was remarkably on point.  Then again, given the time of year, running on the presumption that there will be 5 0 around every third corner of a brand new, safe as you like m'way, is probably as good a bet.  I was busy telling my kids in the back of the wagon that the BIB like to sour holiday makers and add a fun tax over the holidays, when sure enough, a soccer mum SUV got pinged right in front of us with a laser doing what can only have been a smidge over 107, downhill with a tailwind.  I mean really, what risk was this person posing to society and their fellow motorists?  Zero IMHO.  They were more in danger when sliding and swerving to an emergency stop on the lose gravel at the side of the m'way.  Needless to say, the radar detector did not go off in my car nor did the laser detector.

There again today, about 1-2km south of Bombays.

I have had a god Run with RE003's. I found them predictable and decent in the wet, not to bad when pushing hard.  I have Pilot Sports on the 540is and they were good but are close to replacement now. I like the look of the Goodyear Asymmetric 6 for $200 each. The reviews are very good.

Reviews are good and they are 70% off at Hyperdrive.

  4. My Falcon Turbo was a good tyre tester. Had brand new Re002 on it, they were great until half worn, they were then so bad I replaced them. Had Roadking (Korean something), they had surprisingly good straight line grip wet or dry, but terrible wet weather grip sideways, possibly from the noticeably softer sidewalls(?). Then Continental something 5, sport I think. They were pretty good, although got a sideways drift out of a hairpin on the Coromandel road with family in the car that I wasn’t expecting, never felt great about their performance. Then my favourites, Pilot Super Sports, would have again, got destroyed by a cut in the road taking out a rim in the process.. Finally, some Federals, seemed ok, but sold the car before having much time with them. Cheap or relatively pricey, I still think they are a lottery, but agree that cheaper seems to equal worse in the wet in general.

    Aramex... again.

Amazon package 'attempted delivery failed, unable to locate premises" on Friday. Delivery location...

Auckland Museum, Auckland Domain, Parnell 1010, Auckland, New Zealand. And they have delivered there many times. 🙄

Yes, that's the correct address. And it's a pretty big building, in a pretty big park. Any courier driver that can't find that shouldn't be in the "profession".

So I called them and confirmed the address. Now, tracking update Monday "Held in Problem Freight", called them again, new tracking update Tuesday "Held in Problem Freight", called them again, new tracking update Wednesday "Held in Problem Freight"... ffs.

Their offshore call centre can't transfer me to "Problem Freight" (despite tracking updates imploring me to talk directly to "Problem Freight" because even they can not call this department, they can only message them. So Customer Service can do nothing except regurgitate what is available on the public tracking site. smh.

We never have any problems with our local Aramex courier (touch wood), had a minor Fedex problem last week (Tried to deliver) that extended it out by a week with no updates.

Ordered from Amazon Au yesterday, package delivered this morning in less than 24 hours. Take a bow DHL.

all depends on your use case, and how much you're willing to forgive Wolfsberg for intentionally misleading and gassing humans... 😎

They're both a nice drive.   Your $6k discount is directly attributable to Dieselgate!

And for ruining the market perception of diesel forever.
