OT, but I saw one the same colour as yours pulling into the carpark at Te Papa on Saturday as I was leaving the F1 exhibit.
Was it black? Don't know what colour Apexs car is. I was there too for thw weekend.
-
Saw this, it looks so much like the one I drove new in '93. Same colour ext/int, same 1st letter on plate (can't remember the rest obviously), was then a $160k car.
-
I put Mobil 1 in one of the E30s once, it leaked out to my amusement, went back to a semi synthetic/conventional oil, no problems.
-
I use the good oil. ELF from Glenn. In fact, I used too gooda oil in the E30.
On a side note, be happy you can get any BMW aftermarket service parts, I cant get anything for the Megane other than the Oil, I had to get a oil filter threw Renault for $65.00!! NGK NZ don’t stock replacement plugs for the Megane either.
Buy them off the web, there's heaps off Renault places in the UK. I got quoted $252 for spark plugs for the Lexus, landed them for $107.

Cranked on the starter, not sure if the belt was on loosely or not as I wasn't there. Guess I won't be heading to Wgtn tomorrow after all, unless I get real lucky.
-
Yes I know the likely scenario is not good, let's hope for a timing belt jump. Not optimistic though.
-
In the middle of a cam belt replacement, someone accidentally spun the engine over for about 1 sec and after it was put back together, it missed like crazy.
What are the likely scenarios?

I would have thought the M motor would have been good for more than 6k rpm? Not according to the Schnitzer clocks.
-
I put the first 200kms on that Blue E92 M3..
I also saw a white E36 M3 cabrio, dont know if its on here it has the plate JORGE I think, it was outside the fashion week shows in the viaduct
I don't think it's an M3. Could be wrong, but I don't think so.
I was right, it's a 200k 318i.
-
I would have thought the ones you were worried about were minor? They all try and wriggle out, but my Toyota/Lexus one is gold.
-
3 litre or 3.2 as this yellow one.
I have a series of road tests on them from UK Autocar mag, despite supposedly producing the same power (as per Jap regs) over 3 different models, the last of them was something like 1 sec quicker to 60mph, 2secs plus to 100 and much quicker over a 1/4 mile.
I love them. There's a black one in Mission Bay that's gorgeous.

That 124 looks awesome.
-
I would rather have had the "Ribena" 540i for around half the money.
-
Thanks bud. I like it, but maybe it is a bit conservative for me? A white 'rossa would be ideal, but a bit expensive and somewhat difficult for the Mrs. to paralell park. A Benz R109SL (ala Beverly Hills Cop) would also be the business, but probably not as practical as I would like for a daily driver.
Will have a look at this 530i, who knows, it could be a minter.
I will be annoyed if one of you muppets outbids me - hopefully hindsight doesn't suggest that posting this thread on here was a mistake!!!
I know at least one person who will bid on it. But your post made no difference.

From R90S
It's possible to be a car enthusiast without being a bigot. BMW make some excellent cars, but they've also marketed some shockers. Take off your blinkers and smell the Castrol . . . . .
Oh so true. A skyline GTR is inferior to all BMWs? I think not. Notwithstanding the fact that this is a BMW forum and that I do like BMWs, you can't simply ignore or write off all other cars and call yourself an enthusiast. Especially when most of the hate is directed towards Japanese vehicles. Yes, the Japs make some shockers, but so do the Euros.

Wow. I wish my girlfriend had wings tattooed on her back.

I don't think you should sell it. I think you've done a great job to get where you've got to, you've almost inspired me to do something with the B25 engine I have in the garage!
Park it up for a while if you have to and come back to it when you have more money and enthusiasm for it again.

34l/100km. Towing a 2 ton Haines with an '02 Legacy GTB. Ran out after 160kms on a full tank cruising. Mind you, the driver was not that clever with the throttle.

Ill just add one Im particularly fond of at the moment
I hate how so many people have taken up scooters because they cant afford petrol. Especially those who clearly have no idea on how to handle one and clearly have never ridden on one.
They think they can wobble between cars at the intersections in town, then sit over the pedestrian area waiting at the lights, then take off so slowly you can do nothing but over take them on a narrow inner city streets and THEN they have the balls to give you grief when they come up the side of you and sneak into any space youve left in front of you to stop safely !
I just love blocking them in against cars parked on the side of the road when they do that. If you want to be part of the road then follow the f$@#%ing road rules you muppets.
Couldn't agree more. And my personal rant for today, people who use keywords to advertise their 318i/520i/528i so it comes up when you search for a 540i or anything else for that matter. I will not buy your completely irrelevant car just because it pops up.

Both look good. Was thinking of doing this to a set of E39 rims I have. Either that or scrap metal.
-
If you can feel a slight shudder or vibration when pulling away, it's something to do with the gearbox and approx. a $2.5k fix. I didn't find it as quick as I thought and that was a manual, but maybe it was just quiet. I too would rather have one than a MkIV GTi.
-
Wasn't there a cheaper one at Turners? Awesome car, I remember taking one for a blat years ago.
-
Black Dinan 6 (E63) this morning in Shortland St... looked pretty good. Saw it couple more times around here in the past month or so.
Is that the one with the blacked out grill? Parks in the same car park as me, under Chancery.

I think it's a good price, well done. I would have paid more probably, but was at Showgirls spending money instead.
Got Wiidebody?

I like it. With the right wheels/offset, I think it would look great. Does look like a Koenig car, the mid 80's SEC had a similar kit.
