He Wayne, would you gain much in terms of power or response if it was a 320?
  3. I have a BMW### plate but it came with the car. The dealers put them on and i'd rather leave it on instead of getting a standard "Government Issue Plate". I know we all have opinions, but at the end of the day, its really up to the driver of the car and what he/she makes of the car. I dont see any point in critisism around this as this is a BMW enthusiast club.... isn't it? Just my 2cents
  4. Hi people, Has anyone heard of this being done? I have heard you can fit coupe bumpers directly on sedans with an adaptor kit, but im not sure. Would anyone know what the exact details are, and where the best place to buy adaptors (if at all possible) would be? (not Team Mcmillan as I do not want to spend $$$$$$$) Cheers! Dan
  5. I appreciate your 'pickiness', but in all seriousness now, I completely understand where you are coming from. My statement above was only my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. I didn't even read the thread :PI saw the Title on the thread and simply shared my experience. I mentioned that it "feels" like it gained 20HP but obviously, as stated above, I don't know what the true power gains are, nor have I ever taken it on a dyno. It 'feels' a lot more responsive and it actually 'feels' faster, but i'm no HP guru. I should have added in the fact that I had a previous CAI system in there and the ''20HP gain" was from stock standard to the new Gruppe M one. (lazy on my behalf) I Paid around $800 for it (good deal from a mate) but i think it retails for a little over $1200. It was an impulse buy and I usually would never spend that kind of money on a CAI but I am slowly beginning to appreciate its benefits. I had an AFC CAI previous to this and although the sound was similar, the Gruppe M comes up on top... but then you have to ask yourself if the extra $500 or so is worth it. If you are serious, then i guess so? This is my CAI: Gruppe M RAM Air System Model No: FRI-0106 https://www.gruppem.co.jp/en/product/ram/index.html
  6. I have a Carbon Fibre Gruppe M CAI for my 46. Sounds and performs awesome. I thought power gains were marginal.... but without doing a dyno, it feels like its gainned at least 20HP. The throttle response it so much better too. Just my opinion. Pay the price tho....
  7. Good question... I guess its 3 calendar months... But yeah.. again, not sure. You'd have to ring up
  8. Well, i lost my licence on the day of the offence. Officer took my licence off me right then and there BUT, I found the information I needed as per my first post (top). It is not 90 days, in fact, it is date to date. ie. 12 March to 12 June. The reason for my inquiry was so i knew exactly when i could drive again asap For anyone that needs to know/get it clarified, you can call NZTA on 0800 822 422 and they are very helpfull. Hope this helps Dan
  9. Dude, (wayney) your INBOX is full PM me when its a little cleared out so i can PM you
  10. 6 months is for Drink Driving I think.....
  11. Hello all, This is probably a dumb question but does anybody know, if you lose your licence from having too many demerits (over 100), and you are given a 3 mth suspension, is that exactly 90 days or is it from date to date ie. 11 May - 11 August? Cheers! D
  12. I also almost forgot..... When you change your suspension to a Fully Adjustable Suspension setup, you will need to get your car certified. If I can remember correctly, this can cost anywhere from around $300 - $500. You will not pass your WOF if you dont have a cert for them. And if cops find out/suspect (which is quite rare if you have a tidy looking car) you will be paying the price anyway... But coilovers are still worth it IMO.
  13. How did you put the "D" symbol on your genuine NZ Euros? Got any pics? I am definitley doing this. Stuff supporting PP.
  14. Yeah, the E46 M-Sport Package is lower than the standard option. If you can afford it grab some adjustable suspension. I had some bilstein shocks with lowered springs and, although it made the car sit lower and handle slightly better, it just doesnt do the job that adjustables do. The handling and steering response is something you just have to see for yourself when you have them. I used to think adjustables were for people who were serious about racing etc but... I dont race (yet) and this is the best investment i have made!
