  3. Hi all! I have a '84 320i that I am in the process of bringing back from the dead. On my list of to-do items is to swap out the slightly mangled existing setup for something that saves a bit of weight and gives a nice sound. The current setup I have is a slightly hacked up factory exhaust that has been changed to a single pipe halfway through. I would like to convert the car back to dual pipes all the way, but the e30 factory setup is a bit heavy and too tame in terms of volume for me. I have done a bit of research and found that while an Eisenmann sounds glorious (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wATJXGhi-70) it is also the most expensive by far. Like $1100 NZD + shipping kind of expensive. Which sucks because it is my favorite. Stromung makes a catback setup for the e30 that I like a lot (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOQDkPOFLZA) and is a lot cheaper than the Eisenmann at $610 USD (currently that is $930 NZD because of the crazy exchange rate, so it should get cheaper again). Still a lot coin though. SO My bottom line is I paid $850 for my whole car and I'm not in a place where I can just drop 1-2K on a perfect exhaust setup. I want duals and a louder but nice tone. If that could happen for $600 or less all up I would be stoked. What would you reccomend as a nice sounding rear muffler that is affordable here in NZ? Also use a factory center section or use something else? Thanks guys!
  4. Hi Guys, So iv got a fully dressed '87-'88 M20B25 with loom and ecu, gearbox etc all with it lined up. The only problem now is the wiring from the C101 plug which is round and has 20 pins, to my rectangular C101 on the '85 323i. I have started to create a pinout chart which ill upload later tonight, theres just a few wires i am unsure where they should go? There is scarce information about 323i's on the internet, as they were Euro spec and well you know, if its not US spec then no one on any of their forums wants to know about it. I also need a bit of help as to what will go to the C104 plug (i understand this is for the cluster side of things). There is a round connection on the bulkhead by the passenger side, i know this isnt a C101 as i have an earlier car but i was wondering what it actually is. Any wiring help would be much appreciated. Ill upload my chart so far later on. This is the first time iv done anything near this intense mechnically, but thought id try my hand at it. I havent got the engine yet but will have it in a month, so i thought its best to prepare everything now so that its easier when i have everything. The 323i L-Jet wasnt the best starting place but its what i have to work with so ill do my best to make it work. If any of you guys are around Central/West Auckland, and know about the wiring id be real keen to have some help when the engine is dropped in. i HATE electrical systems and having not much experience doesnt really help my cause. Im sure with some help i can get this done successfully, so cheers for any help you can provide me with! Also i know the connector changes around the time this engine was built, so i will check again and confirm. This will probably be the same thread i ask lots of electrical questions over the time of the swap. Thanks!
  5. Hi Guys, I need an ignition coil for my '89 325i. I have one from my '85 323i, but i cross checked the part #'s on RealOEM and they dont match, so i thought its probably best to get the right part for the job. Part # is: 12131286087 if it matters. It can be used, just as long as its working okay. The closer to Blockhouse Bay, Auckland, the better! But dont mind shipping i guess. Cheers!

  7. So my FPR in my e30 was leaking so I took it off to discover a munted O-ring. Now I have it off the car I'm wondering is there an easy way to diagnose if the FPR itself is broke or not? (I suspect it is - horrible fuel consumption, can smell fuel quite strong when car is running, and cuts out when sitting in traffic on really hot days). I have a hand vacuum pump so could connect that to create a vacuum, but then what could I do? I suppose probably the only way is with a pressure gauge? I don't have one so was hoping to avoid if possible.. Cheers guys
  8. Sadly selling my immaculate car as it isn't getting the use it deserves- too busy with business commitments. It's factory standard, done 200kms, factory NZ New Manual, full black leather interior, all the info/photos are on the TradeMe link below: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=812511291 Asking $4200 ONO- Phone me on 027 355 1245 if interested. Thanks
  9. Over working on my car and not really in a position to keep taking it to pieces which is a real shame. It has only recently become apparent to me how much I just need to have a cheap run about instead of using my project car as a means to get from A to B so hence why I am seriously but reluctantly going to try to sell this. I have spent some hours on it so I wouldn't be happy with just giving it away so if I don't get the right price I will just hold on to it and probably park it up somewhere until I can be bothered to take the project back on and get it really nice, that may be some time though. I thought I might have a couple of decent pictures of it lying around but only this at the moment: The body work is pretty good although there are a few scratches here and there, the paint on the roof and the rear doors back has faded. It has a new engine with 132,xxx Kms on it. Radiator is new Engine oil recently done Brake rotors have been resurfaced Power steering fluid Steering bushing replaced New Brake fluid New gear box oil converted to manual (Getrag 240) Crackless dash in great condition. Battery retro fit relocated to boot 2 sets of wheels, tires. Lowered rear suspension and camber (untastefully low, not done by me. Not sure about the front) Sub, amp, 6x9's and head unit I will try and get some better pictures and some more information if anyone on here is actually interested. I thought I would start on bimmersport as I have the old engine and some spare parts I wouldn't mind getting rid of with the car if it does sell. So an enthusiast might be after the whole lot who knows. Anyway cheers.
  10. Wanting to buy a full manual conversion for a E30 325i m20b25 after a conversion with getrag 260 but will consider getrag 240.
  11. My beautiful 325i for sale about two months ago did a full service at BM Workshop. Had the oil sump replaced, cambelt changed and a new computer also put in. Car has been covered for all of my ownership and the previous owner was an elderly man who also kept in the garage. The engine is super clean as the first owner got it from SA and completely brought it to almost new condition. The car is a manual and it flies with the 6 cylinder engine. Full leather interior. Come take a look and a test drive if you have proof of funds. Looking for 7000.
  12. Hey everyone, just joined and i was told you have to post a photo of your car. So here is my pride and joy. It is my first car and I have the mind set of never selling my car, it is a 325i motorsport.
  13. Continuing from intro thread: Bought Jaydubs 325i. Very nice, all swell. I have installed understeer SSK, ERK and mechanic has since installed UUC dual sheer selector rod (had to change selector joint, etc...). Also done by the mechanic: Front control arm bushings, cambelt, waterpump (had never been replaced before!), crank/cam seals (crank seal had not been replaced for a looong time - took mechanic 3 days to remove crank bolt as it had seized a long time ago), driveshaft coupling, E32 750iL brake master cylinder and braided brake lines. There was also an oil leak from the rocker cover (gasket sealant had not been used whenever the gasket was changed) so a new one has been installed - with sealant. Rear subframe bushings were in good nick so he left those in. Left rear brake hose fitting had seized as well so I have 3 braided lines installed... E32 master cylinder is fantastic! So much better than the previous spongy pedal. Not quite on par with newer BMW brakes as there is a very slight delay before any braking force is exerted (maybe due to firewall flex?), but once through the delay it is like pushing against a brick wall. If anyone is interested in the DSSR - it's like a damn bolt action rifle! Very little play. Ran into an issue though - in 2nd, 4th and in neutral if I was resting my hand on the shifter, the DSSR would hit the driveshaft. Sounded like a jack-hammer. Fixed that after I got home from uni though. Ground a notch out of the DSSR with a drill. Worked a charm. Although I do keep picking aluminium filings out of my skin... Pretty annoyed with understeer.com. Short shifter was good, but the DSSR was a nightmare. Just a constant headache. First I got an email about having to pay for shipping (site was plastered with "buy this, get free shipping!!!"). Then the dssr didn't work with the pre 88 selector joint - nothing about that on understeer's website. A now the DSSR hits the driveshaft - even with the ERK which raises the shifter height substantially! In fairness though, DSSR and ERK were made by UUC - but I still feel the seller should do some product testing. In other news, the clutch is effed and I probably should have had that done at the same time. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. It's definitely slipping now... But I gotta wait until pay day!
  14. Have the following parts for sale: M20B25 Intake manifold with throttlebody, $100 M20B25 Exhaust manifold, $80 Motronic conversion sold
  15. Hey everyone, My name is Daniel and im new to this forum, i recently bought an 1992 325i 5 speed manual. Since buying it the clutch has decided to give up on me and now im looking at options to have it replaced.
