  4. Hi team, I’m currently thinking of adding another addition in my garage. Without doubt it’ll be the E92 M3. I was looking at the fire orange one on Trademe but unfortunately it got sold before I can even get my hands on it. I’ve driven a pfl manual one and facelift dct one prior and at this stage I am siding with the facelift dct one. Is it true that the faceflift cars drives way better than the pfl ones? As based on my personal experience I like how the facelift car drives better. However, I wouldn’t mind if it’s dct or manual providing that it is a nice example. Feel free to provide your thoughts or tips on getting a E92 M3 team! PFA

  11. Pretty interesting video for high milage S65 and applicable for S85 engines as well Looking at the video, to be honest the rod bearings looks pretty good for its milage. 152k miles is 244k kms, even our 24 year old Prado doesn't have that milage. We replaced our S85 rod bearings about 61k kms, better condition but definitely beyond normal wear. Mechanical insurance paid the claim. I think @TermiPeteNZ maybe have the highest milage before rod bearing replacement? Anyone else had high milage before replacing their rod bearings? Maybe rod bearing issue is over-hyped?
  12. Hello there, Would like to know for the E46 M3 with SMG II gearbox parking issue. Is that like full manual gear box parking procedure if downhill user reserve gear. If uphill use first gear to parking the car? Or all parking use N is fine for SMG II gear box Thanks

  14. Looking to buy broken S65 (E90 M3) or S85 (E60 M5) throttle actuators. Looking to do practice upgrade/repair on these throttle actuators. I like to practice on broken actuators, so when I upgrade mine I have enough experience to open and put things back together. Alternatively I can attempt to upgrade/repair your throttle actuator for free, just you pay for the parts (less than $100). No warranty or if can't repair your throttle actuator no bad feelings. I am doing repair it in good faith.

  18. For the S54 experts out there, my 03.5 E46 M3 (SMG) has gone into limp mode. I've been told by the dealership to replaced and have replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs, egt, all of the O2 sensors, fuel filter, and fuel pump. The car still doesn't let me go past 3k rpm while on load. The car later let me go past the 3k rpm mark after I replaced a new fuel pump but it wouldn't let me go past the 4.5k mark while on load. The shift lights would craw up to the 4.5k mark like you're hitting the rev limiter. The car drives fine and limp mode would only kick in when I floor the accelerator pedal (while at or near the second click). Would drive fine again after shutting the engine off. No lights on the dash as well. I've spent thousands trying to fix this problem and they still couldn't fix it. Would this be anything related to the TPS? Asked them about it a few times but they told me that they couldn't identify any fault codes.

  22. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m3/listing/2429235706 Long time lurker here. Thought this might be of interest to others keen on a rare E36 M3 saloon. Apparently only one NZ new in this colour. Quite a nice example.
  23. I've got a silver 2000 318i with an m3 front bumper with big empty holes where the fog lights are supposed to be... Drivers side has a cover as in picture (part number 7 893 068) so would be happy to get the passenger side of this part or two new ones of a differents style. Cheers

    M3 E30

With reluctance I am putting my E30 M3 up for sale. It required some work to be made road legal and I dont have the time or cash to commit to it. So - M3, the car that BMW perfected the art of producing a homologation special. 2.3, 1989 European specification. Type code AK05. This is a 215hp non cat variant, chassis number WBSAK050570AE40925 It started life in Germany and after about 10 years moved to UK. It was de registered and moved to Portugal where it was used as a track day car. It was imported to NZ and has only done a handful of miles in the last 9 years. Odometer 250,905 km. Still on UK plates it will need compliance to be registered in NZ This car does required some work to get it back to its M3 glory. It has the headlining and carpet removed. It is missing some interior parts in boot. There is some rust in the left inner guard and number plate lights. Non standard exhaust, missing fog lights. Otherwise it is very original, unmolested example of the best version that is not an Evo. Sits on Evo 2 16 inch wheels. No evidence of repairs except strengthening front anti roll bar mounts on chassis rails. As it is not road legal test drives are restricted. If you know what an E30 M3 is, and have $55,000, then please message me. Location south Auckland. The only swap that is of interest is cash. This is an opportunity to own a real M3 with some work, and price reflects that. Comes with some required spares such as door cards, sunroof, boot interior that have been collected over the last 9 years.
  25. Before I order a new one online, does anyone have a E36 steering wheel hub they want to sell? Preferably Momo, hub for airbag models but will take a non airbag one as well. Part number either 2008 or 2011 if Momo. I'm in Auckland but don't mind paying for shipping.
