Diff Seals, BMW vs OEM vs Generic

I'm giving my 210mm LSD a tidy up (removing 30 years of gunk off the outside) before installing it into my e28. In doing so I'm replacing the seals. What're people's thoughts on genuine BMW vs, OEM, name brand (e.g. Victor Reinz) or popping down to my local bearing/seal shop? My understanding is, is that they're just a relatively normal seal and I just need to match the ID and OD and mostly match the thickness (currently running a 10mm instead of 9mm input seal). Output shaft, 76X50X10, 33107510289 Input shaft, 50x80x9, 33121213949 And of course a new locking ring 33121205138. Anything else I'm missing?

    WTB E38 Differential

I need a new diff for my 1996 750iL. From what I found it needs to be 4.0 V8 or V12 215/220 type one, should be 2.93 ratio but I'll consider any ratio as long as it's the 215/220 type. Not looking for LSD, just want to get the car going. I'm in Auckland but have no problems paying for postage.
  3. Early '82 E28 medium case 3.45 open diff. Won't work on anything accept 81, 82 spec E28s, so it's useless really. Not even sure why you are looking at it. Good condition, came out of running car. Internals might be useful to E30 guys. $100 or make an offer. Pick up from Onehunga.
  4. Before I pull my LSD diff apart to change the ring gear, does anyone have an E28/E24/E23 large case LSD diff with a ratio of 3.46 or higher that they would either sell or trade for my 3.07? May consider medium case E30 diffs depending on price. Can do cash your way, again depending on the diff. Not interested in non LSD or anything not bolt in, because I have a non bolt in solution already. Looking for an easy option. I'm in Auckland but don't mind dealing with shipping.
  5. Large case E34 3,45 ratio diff, came out of the 535i I wrecked. Drove well, no funny noises or anything. $150. Pickup from Penrose.
