But in terms of bringing home the bacon... the parents cover my expenses

Sometimes I wish I still lived at home.... think of all the money I'd save etc. Then I go round to the olds for dinner and in the space of two hours I quickly realise why I left there in the first place! :D

I own and manage an Embroidery-Screen printing and Apparel business called Apex Apparel.

I work from a large studio on my residential property and have two company cars I don’t drive, go figure.

Ford Falcons suck and the new one is no better, cheap horrible plastics. One upside is that they are priced accordingly.

All jobs start out easy, cars like to piss people off by turning brittle haha, oh well meant a longer drive in the E30 so was an alright day in the end.

You take that coolant back Nick before your dad finds out and rips you a new one?

LOL. I work off a laptop on my super yacht in the maldives.

Seriously I work for a telco looking at the network etc. Lot of layer 2 stuff, Frame, DSL, ATM.

But I enjoy trading stocks far more, and I'm wanting to do it full time next year :)

I work for jucy rentals as a customer service bum. I go to uni during the week.

www.jucy.co.nz if you want a car or "campa"

As far as company car goes I don't have one, but have occasionally taken work cars home for various reasons.

Hi Paul, as I wasn't paying for the car, I never considered the Skoda. However, if I was coughing up the coin. Definitely. The DSG and diesel engine are great. The Skoda as a little less in the interior, but is still excellent value for money. Getting nearly 1000km per tank around town driving.

Just got into a new XR6 here in Dunedin. Don't miss my Ford. Let's see how it goes through Clyde/Queenstown/Balfour and Invercargill over the next 2 days.

Doug, I've probably lost your phone number. Send me a text 0274 824 713. I get in about 2pm on Wednesday and will be keen for a beer in the evening!

Just waiting for the Southern road-trippers to arrive so I can have one down here.

I build homes for people.

My work car is the much maligned AU Xr6 ute, the sometimes bright red one with bits falling of it and a coathanger for an aerial. Like all good Aussies it enjoys a drink.

Guest Simon*

After spending most of my working life in the air force and army I now manage trees for an American forestry company. It's a bit rough at the moment in the industry because of many things, not least of which that the communists in Helengrad love dairy cows more than guys with chainsaws. We were way ahead of the game in the carbon trading war but we're still gonna get raped.

Oh I have an IT degree too and used to do a lot of CAD work, but now I'm in GIS.

I drive the 540 every day but when I need to we have a fleet of new lease Hiluxes (which are a bunch of plastic crap - with ok motors) and sometimes I pinch the boss's 2008 Highlander (3.5l petrol that gets the worst mileage I've ever seen and has a small tank).

I applied to become a catholic priest before this but failed the choirboy test. Couldn't get it up :(

When I grow up I want to be the stig

We had one of these threads before, but would be good to see what some of the newer members do.

Notable mentions from the old thread from memory were an IRD employee (Legitimate) and a Police Officer (also legitimate).

I'm a surveyor-come-resource management consultant-come-project manager for a small engineering and resource management consultancy in the Bay of Islands. I drive a 10 year old Ford Courier with 352000kms on the clock.

To be honest it is great. I don't pay for fuel and I drive 300kms a week to work, it has a 2.6 petrol so it goes alright for a ute, and its old enough I can take it over rough tracks and through the odd bit of bush to get to hard to access sites without worrying about the paint.

PS - nice website grant.

Since we are being all serious now..

I am an industrial designer come entrepreneur. I part own and manage Blender Design ltd - we are a small design consultancy specialising in product design and development. I am hesitant to put up our web address because the new site isn't up, but here is the old one www.blender.net.nz

The rest of the time I run bimmersport along with Andrew.

No company car right now, I use my 540, keep a logbook and claim the business expenses. (happy IRD man?)
