Dont Use Armoural On E30 Dash Or Vinal!

Just thought those e30 owners may like to know i was just speaking to a guy from fibernew in christchurch and he was so suprised i had a crackless dash.. any way as the conversation went along he said DO NOT USE ARMORAL on your dash of vinal. because its silicon based it cooks and dries it out and degrades the material. To clean he said either use a product called restore-all or 1 part dishwashing liquid to 20 parts water. If you have armoral on it currently you must get it off if you dont want your dash to crack, use the dishwashing liquid and it should work. he also just advised plainly not to use it on anything as its not good for anything at all.

Just thought id post up what i learned from a trusted person in the trade.

Can't see it being detrimental to glass but would expect it would be harsh for the rubber and dry it out.

Used some of that and gave it away, turned all my trim cloudy white in the E60 and E30.

I have used Armorall for 20 odd years and have never had an issue.

Well Graham, you've seen my car. I Bees Wax the body mouldings and interior vinyl and it not only looks good but lasts a lot longer than any silicone treatment.

Only problem is keeping it off the paintwork when you apply it.

This is what we use at JCBMW mostly only pacer products, they work very well, you can get the restore-all through them
