Probably a typo but your car is the E46, not E36

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the sports suspension refers to the Motorsport model of the car - which I believe is slightly lower than the standard.

Should be standard, all coupe's come with motorsport springs, but either way it shouldn't matter which shock you use as the motorsport version is uprated in the shock valving so won't affect the height of the car, will just be firmer.

Hi,

Many thanks for the reply. Can I ask if it makes any difference if I just use them to replace the fronts? The units I am looking at are second hand so would expect that they will be 'less firm' than when new(?)
