SPOTTED! The official thread

Recommended Posts

Poor picture quality because of my ph but followed this E38 all the way from Wanganui to Auckland on the weekend of the ECC meet. The owner shall remain nameless. Andy. Woops.

In true Bond style throwing out a smoke screen.

Faulty rocker cover gasket I believe. Fortunately Andy was able to source a new gasket and do the repair in Auckland.

the cause was a 2001 728i being fitted with a presumably second hand rocker cover gasket with a 1998 date stamp that decided to spit it self out, followed by about 5L of oil between Wanganui and Mt Eden. wasnt smoking like that the whole way, just when turning left and it spilled onto manifold and anyway just put electric rear blind up, out of sight out of mind lol

Gavin at Euro Italian hooked me up with a new gasket, fitted that in my Auckland workshop and all good for the way home :D

the real question is why is the 750i stuck behind the 728i lol

ha ha ha. Well, I did say I'd follow you up and I am a man of my word.

And when it wasn't smoking the view was rather nice. Especially when getting a glimpse of the deep dish rims as you were cornering.

And saw this E30 while cruising one day.

And this 740 that sounded like it was Manual, checked the VIN and it was originally auto, but the way it took off and changed up/down sounded very manual.

the 740 has been molested a bit, usually there are "no" exhaust tips on an E38, they are tucked behind the bumper and point at the ground where you cant see them.

Any details on the other black E30 M3 at the end of the clip?
