Cheers guys,

Just have to keep the momentum up now.

Got the turbo oil drain all tacked up today.

Need to find a 3" length of some 3/4"-16 threaded tube for the oil filter relocation, then a bunch of hose & fittings.

Haha, keeping that momentum up is key!

In regards to the axle line of the front wheels, approx what cylinder No. do you think would be above that point? I'm just trying to get an idea of how far back you will have managed to get the engine.

Centre of Cyl No.1 is on or just behind the front axle line.

I can easily stand in the engine bay in front of the engine.

Will get a pic from above next time the engine is back in, as I have a couple of marks on the guards where the axle line is.

I was following the then current OSCA rules which allow 305mm firewall setback and Cyl No.1 being no more than 5% of the wheel base behind the front axle.

Got the Homologation & Log Book in the mail today.

Now for the DiY paint job on the interior - not looking forward to it, but something I'd like to learn.

Any hints & tips welcome...

 He was the first I contacted when I considered such madness.

Hope to hear from him before I f*#k it up.

Got Paint.

Went for Titanium Silver (Titansilber No.354).

Hopefully it's not too light, was going to go Steel Grey Metallic (400) but looked too dark *shrugs*

Now the prep' continues *joy*

Hey Chris.

I've been watching your build/revisions of, on E30tech for years also with interest.

Some great results you're getting out of it now.

The seat is dummy mounted up and getting a few parts water cut at present (should pick up in the AM) to hang the steering column, then it's onto the pedal box.

Thought it would be good to future proof things, and go for a 2pc design, so a change of column can be easily done.
Little blue bits will be steel, to weld to the dash bar, and the red, out of Alloy, for weight savings (bahahahaha)

Cheers, been along time coming! SR proved to be nothing but another setback.

I have long considered a 6 cylinder, but all the work you are going through now has steered me down the 4 cylinder path. I had my car on some dodgy corners weights recently and it was pointing towards 50:50 with the driver, yours should easily get that.

Looks like I got it right.

Just need to pick up some taps to thread the holes in the steel bits and get some nice cap screws.

And weld them on of course.

OMG, this project is so slow.

Got the above all welded in, but fially got some Nice Domes head SS capscrews.

Been a bit more progress at the front end of the engine-bay.

New slam panel with IC & Radiator Mounted:

New End tank for the IC coming together:

And the mount for the pedal box:

Got the reinforcing plate mostly welded onto the floor today for the pedal box mount to attach.

So I can then get onto the brake & clutch lines.

Hope to get the IC & Radiator mods all welded up this week too.

LOL - tell me about it, it's a convenient excuse when it's cold & dark in the garage though...

I might even get to a point this year where I will need to covertly get your front end 3D scanned ;)

prob' just jinxed myself right there.....

O' thanks

Is an oldie c/2003 when I first got her going/road legal.
Was thinking I need to find the p'shop file and make an updated version, but figured I should put efforts in getting it going again...
