Yeah the stock lens takes a while, even with AI servo, to focus. Having a car come at you like that is too much for the lens to handle. Would very much like a USM (ultra sonic motor) lens, they focus like a click of the fingers. Hot.

And there is a real skill involved with a shot like my last I posted to get the subject completly blur free (I've only ever done it like once). Perfect tracking is haaaarrrd.
