The Anti Rice thread.

Recommended Posts

In the interest of the public let’s make a few simple rules about what looks good and what doesn’t, also could be helpfull for those who dont want a attention from the Police.

Inspired by King Karl.

that looks mint! Ever considered painting the calipers? They could either look really nice or really ricer if you painted them red

Rule #1) unless you have big impressive brakes don’t paint them bright colours, especially if you’re running three up rim size. Painted drums are ok, shows you have a sense of humour.

What about painting your calipers to hide from wof inspectors the fact you attacked your calipers with a angle grinder ???

only time you should have RED (or any color for that mater) calipers is if they are Brembo, AP Racing, or any other aftermarket upgraded caliper...

I can't be bothered finding the thread but the guy that put heaps of effort and painted his in a gold colour, those were MINT. Subtle is always good.

Silver or black is fine, bright colours, not so fine.

Unless your brakes are substantially large you shouldn’t show them off, would be like a porn star with a 2†tool of the trade painted Day Glow Orange.. Wrong.

We need say ten rules, im sure one or two of them will offend but it’s all in good fun.

In before the purists sh*t all over this thread......

Still think those bolt on 'brembo' caliper covers are worse than painting them a bright color

Purists? I don’t get ya, there are tons of mint modified BMW’s on Bimmersport, im sure us purists can attest to that, this isn’t the BMW car club.

#2) Stockings over exterior lights, it’s a light designed to let other people know your indented actions and not a women’s legs.

Chrome has its place and can be done properly, maybe a guideline as to done properly would be helpful.

^ Didn't mean to cause offence Apex or anyone else, I still think there is a bit of a 'upper class' society on here of those people who don't like people who modify their cars in certain ways but each to their own is the way to look at it.

I am all for subtle modifications, nothing too over the top as doing a 'ricer mod' would suggest.

The latest rice mod of 2009, d*ck smith LED upgrade. I saw a Commodore last night that had about 4m of led strips stuck in random places, looked like a painting of an Audi done by Picasso.

No offence taken squire. I’d say 99% of us have modified cars.

Im loving this new Class system idea for Bimmersport, we already have a King in the form of his majesty Karl, the inspiration for this joyous thread :D

Just sore a mint Mazda RX3 drive past with what looked like some form of window doily :(

I still think the worse thing you can do to a BMW to make it ricer is add 'M' badges or M3/M5 badges to a plain jane 3/5 series.

Apex, we should make a thread with a photo of each members cars then have a judgement panel i.e Kingkarl to rate how ricer our cars are haha, make it compulsory in members profile or something.
