BBK's work fine with RS' if you wanna run spacers.

We're not raining on your parade Atta, go with what YOU want, not us, it's not our car!

This is what i want...in black of course.

5 stud conversion will probably be the best option after thinking about it

Yeh? The 4 lug re-drill going to be too costly?

Ok, for those in the know I need some expert advice.

Will the following work with minimal guard roll:

16x8.5 ET14

16x8.5 ET35

18x9 ET20

Also, it's quite likely I will need to get spacers to clear the big brakes so will want a buffer on the offset.

From my understanding... the threshold for an E30 is ET 15 - 35

So, all the above should theoretically work expect ET14 is going to be cutting it too close if spacers are needed (assuming adding spacers decreases the offset further)?

For reference, a brembo BBK with BBS RS of an offset of 13 needs a 20mm spacer.

16x8.5 ET14 = 9mm less inner clearance, extra 29mm outside

16x8.5 ET35 = 30mm less inside, extra 8mm outside

18x9 ET20 = 21mm less inside, 29mm outside

Depends on bell height of the rotors, and caliper "bulkiness.

The offset of the wheel doesn't always mean that the wheel can clear brakes. Usually, the more dish there is, the less chance the wheel will have "x factor" to clear calipers. I tried 16x7 RS's at 33p and 20mm spacers and they wouldn't even come close to fitting over my brakes. Where-as various Volk/SSR wheels at higher offsets fit the brakes just fine!

I can help, but need details - if you want to keep them secret, PM me.

Right, thinking of picking up this set now.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=278149439

2 x BBS RS 137

5 x 114.3 stud pattern

16 X 7"

45 Offset

60.1mm hub

0.5" drop lips

2 x BBS RS 225

5 x 114.3 stud pattern

16 x 8"

45 Offset

60.1mm hub

1" drop lip

Seems like these came off a civic or some other front wheel drive car judging from the high offset.

To get this to work I will of course have to get them to the right PCD, source the largest spacers I am legally allowed (27mm?) which also have hub centric rings to fill up the larger centre bore back down to 57.1mm.

In theory if this all works out it should work quite well as I need huge spacers to clear BBK's anyhow and this will decrease the offset to something acceptable on an E30 leaving me as much room at the guards as possible for future expansion (bigger sexier outer lips).

It's going to be costly as **** but hopefully worth the effort in the end.

Anyone see any immediate issues I have not accounted for?

I think the 60.1mm CB could be from a Toyota of some sort

Old supra wheels maybe?

The spacer size will have to be spot on...

Why is that? Think it will be cutting it close on the outer guards?

In the rear...The inside of the wheel more than the outside lip?

If the spacers are too small the high offset could cause problems...i couldn't tell you without pics :D

Will definitely need some big spacers at the rear no doubt, probably going to mean that I can't get much dish going?

Could always use hub adaptors like Jib is using.

Will space them out and change to 4x100 at the same time.

Here's one I prepared earlier

Oh yeee, that could be an option :).. $450! ouch

also these are 5x114.3

Yep, you've pretty much got it Atta.

The mags are ET45. So if those spacers posted are 20mm or up to 25mm your sweet!

IMO those are pretty cheap for hub adapters compared to some I have seen. Those ones have been on trade me for ages. Just had a look and you'd be looking are around 340USD not including shipping for 4 hub adapters from the states, don't know local availability.

The only thing you're going to find out with those hub adapters is how the hub size and wheel centerbore will work. If the adapter has already been made to those spec's then your pretty lucky but i'd check it out first.

Btw, you do know you need a cert for spacers or hub adapters. So thats another $400! It does add up, you've just gotta figure out whether the final result will be worth the screwing around or whether its better to wait around for the perfect set of wheels (But that could never happen!). Although these mags are very cheap!

Does anyone know what offset is needed for when an e30 is converted to 5 stud using e36 Ti rear end?

Maybe different with the z3 too?
