$10 Grand E30 Engine

Recommended Posts

Say if you had $10 Grand to pour into your e30's engine what would you put in ? - lets say all suspension/brakes/ bushes/ LSD have been done.

Just want to see the amount of Purists vs Jappas.

F20c....but probably stretching it with that budget. And car has to either a stripped coupe for f20c.

Otherwise, I'd want a holset powered touring/sedan haha.

S38B38 Turbo or S38B36 Turbo

Although I imagine I would be going over the 10K budget

S62

(yeah, I know... 10 grand wouldn't even buy me the engine)

M54 with uprated cams, equal length headers on a link G4. spend the little change you'll have on some cheap rear tyres.

M52B28, and then supercharge it if it was within the budget.

LS1 would be very cool but $10k would be pushing it i think, too much custom work.

S52 no question.

the yank motor? or S50B32?

An S38, or S50B32.. or maybe M70TT with a ballast in the boot.. it would be BMW whatever it was though.

Foxy, do you think that would be realistic with a $10k budget? Are you allowing a lot of your own time to do the work, and your contacts to get good prices on parts? Would have thought even allowing for those you would still be over the $10k, could be very interesting.

Depends on how much work you're able to do yourself, as always.

Wow! alot of choices there. I am leaning towards the m20b28 :D assuming it would also be alot cheaper than other options.

an m54 would be nice aswell.

L28 stroked and bored to 3.1L, Mikuni triple carbs, tubular headers.. Oh wait, we aren't talking about an S30 here.

E30, oh right!

Beams 3SGE with 6 speed, quad throttles, headers etc.

F20C (though that would be pushing the budget) 6 speed box

2JZ-GE, 6 throttles, Link

1UZ-FE, velocity stacks..

Ahh, so many options!

Haha i agree 3SGE's are pretty cheap now.

Can anyone recommend a performace shop that could get a F20c mounted and running?

No idea who can do it, but the $2200 spare may be enough for mounts + wiring from a shop?

Ls1/2etc or 13b turbo.

+1 Other options would be 20b n/a or 18a.

Would also LOVE to see a F20C as stated earlier.

That package is at Strongs and my GF's uncle owns it, I will have a chat to him and see what he can do. Hopefully should have more than $2200 to play around with.
