What'd you do to your BMW today?

Recommended Posts

Replaced the E46's headlight lenses.

Not cheap but worthwhile and easy to do.

Replaced the leaking lower radiator hose on the e46. Then replaced the ac belt tensioner pully and engine mounts in the m3. Fun times doing the drivers side!post-5102-0-86397200-1432373263_thumb.jp

Pulled old radio out of E30, got it going so I know the speakers etc are all working. Pulled front fender off ready to take to panel beaters.

In the last week- got heater blower motor going. On the E39- new coolant hoses, waterpump, serpentine belt, transmission flush, trailer connection half wired in

Oh yeah, new wiper blades for everyone too

New FCABs and front brakes from the guys at SD Euro, great work diagnosing my cars "shimmy" at speed and under braking and fast turn around on fitting new parts, same day service.

The new bits have also stopped the car groaning and moving after handbrake is applied.

pulled E30 out the shed, went for a drive to newtown and back

almost stacked it in the city because I havent driven anything other than my Hiace in a month and forgot i had a bonnet in front of the windshield

turns out E30 brakes arent that bad if you need to use them properly!

put it away again safely, and put my other E30 along side it to keep it company.

Resealed the rocker cover on the e36. Looks like that might have been only one of many oil leaks unfortunately though.

Replaced a capacitor on my faulty E36 digital climate control... PITA but works a treat now.

Heh good work. I've replaced nearly 250 capacitors in my soarer last month. They are the cause of most electrical issues!

Fixed my blower motor which was only working intermittently and only on speed 4. Removed the resistor and cleaned the contacts. Also gave the motor itself a once over. Blower is working again on all speeds but the motor is still a little asthmatic, might need to replace it at some point.

Was also going to have a crack at fixing the problem of the wipers juddering across the screen when on intermittent but got distracted and painted the scuttle vents instead. :) Turned out nicely, will have a go at fixing the wipers tomorrow.

I didn't do anything to her, I got her (yesterday)!

7.45am bus to Te Awamutu to pick her up at 5pm, then 5.30pm on the road back to Welly, home just after 11.30. Safe & sound.
