What'd you do to your BMW today?

Recommended Posts

Yep, still spinning freely. I'll take the belt off anyway, it's just wasting ponies at this stage.

AC clutch should be disengaged anyway (if AC is off), so should only spinning the pulley and not the compressor

Purchased a roof basket for my Family road trip this weekend.

It looks pretty long next to the car, at 1.6M, but should hold all the extras nicely.

Carried a bit more than pictured, but you get the idea. Good cruise to Tokaanu, though National park, Ohakune then Hamilton. Over 2 days.

Replaced nasty old rusty wheel bolts with nice shiny new titanium wheel bolts, must be good for at least a second off my 1/4 mile time!! DSC_0649.thumb.JPG.446dd507c78bd6e1526e5a842d10b79b.JPGDSC_0651.thumb.JPG.e9f7bc5bbbe88ab9abb4c64bf248bd40.JPG

ECS. They had a special a while back that dropped them under the $400 magic number.

As suspected it was the clutch slave cylinder that was leaking on the ‘vert, tried to find a seal kit but ended up with a whole new slave at a reasonable price. Fitted new one and bled it all through last night.

And now it’s pissing down, so still can’t drive the bloody thing, grr.

Today I was trundling down the Tauranga Eastern Link when the 525i cut out. Odd, I thought. A bunch of cranking produced no joy but a very strong fuel smell. On opening the bonnet I found- of all things- the fuel line had come off at it's clip together junction!

Also, @Allanw will be pleased to know- the clutch has fiiiinally started slipping! Woohoo!

Wow... no fire at least...

You've got a LOT longer out of that clutch than I ever thought possible. It'll feel WAY better when it's done though... that bite point is way too high!

Maybe you drive like a Nana???? Not the 4000rpm clutch slipping while reversing from the gargage kind either

On Thursday night in work X5 number 2 I exploded the turbo on the Napier-Taupo rd at 10pm towing a machine. So that was a bit dumb.

The old dear has been having massive lag issues since it hit 400km and it's now at 455km.

I told them so!

Chinese replacement air bag in the 535i blew up on the way home today.  You get what you pay for I guess.  I put the best of the two old ones back in to get it back on the road.  Now I don't trust the other bag that is in there...

The only upside is I am getting pretty fast at swapping out the bags.

Battery in my M5 is also toast.  Replacing sh*t for no gain is such a drag.  Must be time for a Toyota or something.

Spent a couple of hours making her look pretty.

Took a photo of her sitting there looking rather pretty.

I'm assuming it wasn't on the driver's side?!?

When mine when off they filled the cabin with powder... would have crashed through lack of visibility if I wasn't already crashed.

Ah I should have said it was the suspension air bag :)

It went pop and gangster low.  Chinese replacements are super cheap, but it would seem the quality is questionable.
