how long is it expected to go for?

was hoping it'd be later than 9am lol

Start the year with some fun on the international track and skid pan.

The format is saloons and sports cars only. Two groups - morning session for beginners and advanced, while afternoon is open pit lane with maximum of 46 cars on the track at any one time. Skid pan will also be available all day. Play on the skid pan while waiting between test sessions!

can someone clarify

is the afternoon session for experts only?

whats skid pan?

Afternoon is open pit for anyone and everyone.

Day will finish at 4:30pm.

Skid pan is a big concrete pan, 100m by 50m in size, there will be small courses to drive with a mixture of wet and dry surfaces. Its really good for car control and showing up bad drivers with too much HP as all they do spin round and round and round, then when they are straight again they sit there just spinning the wheels :)

I haven't got any spare overalls. Got spare helmet you could use if you want to come give me some tips in my car or if you need a helmet for a run in some one else's car.

Hey Jack thanks for that man might need to borrow your helmet, So any overalls would be good to use ? or do they have to be 100% cotton?

ohh okay sweet so you need a helmet too for this track

so the afternoon track open session do you need overalls + helmet,

any chance of borrowing helmet from someone + wearing normal clothes lol?

roughly what time is the afternoon session? 12? 1?

with the skidpan do you wear anything / not need helmet?

btw is there any tutoring lol, don't know how to handle the car during a drift/traction loss lol

sounds cool will try drop by

To go on the track you need overalls and helmet.

Afternoon session will be around 1 but I would recommend to maybe start on the skid pan if your going to miss the morning sessions if its your first time.

What a great day!! Thanks James and the flag marshalls for bearing the sun all day.

I am very sunburnt despite my very best effort at staying under the shade.

awesome awesome day ...

great to see everyone there today.

Had a blast, the car with its new slicks on it hauled ... now to work on my driving skills. Managed a 1:20.7 but I know I can go much faster with no traffic and some practice.

Ian, was awesome seeing you on the skid pan hahah ... was epic!

I didn't get many battles. Everytime another Bimmer came close to me I was doing something else. Driver Training etc..

Thanks to everyone that showed for the day, was awesome weather and an even better bunch of cars.

Highlights of the Day,

Hearing the M3 CSL's and the e46 touring car going round, oh the induction noise.

Seeing Ian go nuts on the skidpan with the 540.

Not having to see any bent cars.

Not bending any cars.

Seeing everyone getting faster and faster.

Getting a mean t-shirt tan

Seeing a certain Blue X5 towing a blue e30 at the top of the bombays with a AA ute behind it.

Hearing BMW drivers talk sh*t about VW's

Hearing VW drivers talk sh*t about BMW's

Heaps of people were asking me when the next day is, haven't really thought about it yet but it will be round mid year, in the meantime you can go to Trackhack.co.nz for any updates, also chucked all the upcoming trackdays around nz on there.

Till then, lets see some more pics and vids :)

Thanks Dan for the support and advice offered to Jo in the Hellbm wagon. Certainly contributed to her rapidly improving times.

f**ken cheap AA job done two days earlier to fix a brittle hose had gave up under pressure ( was assured by him it would hold )... only just got home now after a 5 hour wait for the tow truck... =(

Thanks a lot James, really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the next day! Will post my pics up in a minute.
