what to do with this 94 NZ new M3

Recommended Posts

picked this up a a while ago , just trying to decide what to do with it .

1994 NZ new M3 3L hellrot 160k on the clock, dereged, sleight damage to engine subframe and some some panel damage etc

past owner drove over some wood on the motorway.

just trying to decide what to do with it .

reregister it ?

part it out?

or use the engine and bits to chuck into another body .

maybe a e36 318ti or my wifes 328i touring etc etc .

what do you guys think??

My vote is to resurrect it you have the panels and parts there worth more as an M3 anyday, doesn't look to far gone.

As you know doubt have parts for e36's is it not worth more repaired and on sold. That is if the current damage is not to great and most people on here have raved about owning a "M" at some stage.

There was a silver e36 touring in Performance BMW magazine a month or two ago with a full M3 swap, right down to the instrument cluster etc, was awesome, I say do that.

e30 wagon with m3 breaks and whatever other bits you could use.

the factory quick rack works very well in an e30 too.

plus those seats and if your real keen you could shorten the dash's width then rewrap it.

just some ideas....

also i just looked up the curb weight of a e30 325 touring they are 1230kg so you cant ignore the mad power to weight the thing would have.

Id say the s50 b30 would prob be a bit lighter then a old 325 motor so that number might even be a bit on the heavy side

food for thought....

is your e34 v8 530i a 5spd manual??

i have one too but with a 4.4L v8 with 5spd manual behind it

yes same here ,not to keen on a e30 conversion.

would rather a e36 318Ti if i wanted a lighter car to fit the engine into
