When: Saturday April 30th 2011

Where: Taupo Motorsport Park - Broadlands Road, Taupo

What: Driver training for all the family at a fraction of the corporate cost; including in car training

Driver Training to be undertaken by professional driver trainers including:

· Mike Eady (Racer and BMW NZ Driver Trainer) and;

· Gerry Hodges (LTSA Accredited Driver Trainer with over 20 years experience including emergency services driver trainer)

Evening Meal: BMW Club get together and driver training day ‘awards’ bash (come and join the festivities)

Cost:

$ 140 per person/driver (Driver Training)

$ 55 per person (Saturday evening meal)

What to bring:

· Car (not necessarily a BMW)

· Cotton or race overalls and a helmet if you wish to participate in the over 100kph track driving

Accommodation: The Club has arranged a very favourable rate including parking with the Taupo Hilton available to be booked through the hotel’s website.

This really is a valuable event on the calendar and one that has taught young and old drivers alike through the years. Please support the event as the club ran it at a loss in 2010 and cannot afford to do so again in 2011.

*NB In 2011 BMW Driver Training are also offering a discounted price for all participating drivers to attend further instruction as part of the corporate BMW Driver Training programme, do not miss out on this opportunity!

Sharkfest: Celebrating all 1502, 1602 and 2002 through E3, E6 and E9 into the E12, E21, E23, E24 and E28 BMWs

Club enthusiasts bring out your shark-nosed BMW from the 1970’s and 80’s. You can either fully participate in the driver training or simply enjoy the atmosphere in the company of like-minded enthusiasts with shark-nosed cars.

Those club members from all the regions that know of non-club members that would be interested please encourage them to attend we are aiming at as large and varied a contingent as possible for both the Driver Training and Sharkfest.

All road and race cars are welcome for both events!

Please RSVP to the following from your region:

•Gerry Hodges gbhodges@xtra.co.nz 0274 925 040

Nah but what has happened in the past is you start the morning with a briefing, then get split up into groups and perform 4-5 'stations' around the track different driver training tests.

Then have lunch then in the afternoon they open the track up.

Its a good day

Guest Simon*

I can thoroughly recommend this to everybody too. I put the girlfriend through it last year too in her Golf GTI. She's a much better and more confident driver for it too.

Hit up your local BMW club, they probably run things like this. If not there are other clubs around.
