Odometer not working

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I was driving my car and when I looked at the odometer it was not moving, it was resting on 0 kph.

Any answer to how this has happened?

Since I posted this problem while driving the speedo needle moved up and down slowly, then it came right. I just hope this lasts.

I will check the fuse and others anyway, thanks bump

In search of an answer, I looked through a few forums on this issue and the majority of people talked about some small gear that could have disintegrated. Could this be the case since the speedo has suddenly come right??

Appreciate your help,

Regards,

Mike

maybe speedo cable is frayed and catching on its casing? was the speedo needle jittering up and down before it stopped?

Just get it re calibrated, my hole dash dont work apart from fuel and heat ( witch is still dodgy) and my odometer is 30km to fast.

It sounds a lot like a loose (or dirty) connection at the rear of your speedo, in the dash. For it to magically come right again, this would explain it.

Maybe pull your dash out and check the connection.

Cheers
