Alarm System on an 2000 BMW 330i?

Deadlock is on by default regardless of locking by key or remote.

Well pretty much if you smashed my drivers window and tried opening the door from the inside, you can't, so im guessing its deadlocked? Because my other e46 if you lock the car you can still open it from the inside by opening the handle from the inside then the little button pops up and then open it again and the door opens. In the new car the little button that pops up and down doesnt when you open from the inside if you get what i mean.

With the alarm enabled in the computer and on you can't unlock the doors from either the button or handles. If you disalbe the alarm in the computer (so the car doesn't think you have one) you can unlock it as you say, with the double pull of the handle.

alarm enabled in computer, locked == can't open from inside.

alarm disabled in computer, locked == can open from inside.

In saying that though you might get different results if you disable arming/disarming with the key lock, and only allow it from the key button. disabling the arm/disarm from the keylock is an option in the computer.

Your right in saying that, i sat in the car before and hit the lock button inside the car (not with the remote or key) and i could open the door. But as soon as i lock it, it wont let me. Thanks for the info
