Makes space under the back of the car, smooths airflow, or... Something else? I can see some benefits but just checking I've not missed anything!

Richard - what size rims (including offset) are you running?

More room for Aston Martin mufflers! ;)

update:

So had to widen the guards from felony form by 35 mm over their  std 45mm to a total 80mm not ideal but have chosen function over fashion. Still have to do the fronts but I'm wanting for front bumper to make my finale decision on how they will be formed. These won't be everyone's cup of tea but hay, its mine.

Today after work I decided to check the water hoses on the engine and look for way to hook up the expansion tank.

The hose from the back of the head was the first to come off and to my surprise found this inside, have no idea how it got there.

Then gave the rest the squeeze test had a fail so have decided to replace the lot.

Update.

Been a bit slow over the last couple of weeks.

Fitting off the brakes from peddle box to the front brake lines and where it meets the rear lines. Running the lines through the bulkhead and tiding it up. I've used lots of braided lines as the peddle box is adjustable not the drivers seat. Fitted a pressure switch for brake lights.

Expansion tank install in the water system, I plumbed this into what was the heater inlet and return.

Oil cooler.

Radiator'

power steering pump and lines.

Ready for liquid's , If all goes well I may even have it running over the weekend.

Nothing to special just some box steel with holes drilled and taped  every 25 mm x 5 and held down with some bolts.

you can kind of see it in this pic

E36 wide body kit arrived today.

after 4 months of waiting I saved about 76kgs over standard bare body parts.( No glass , door latches, locks ) .

Biggest problem was getting it over the customs line and the TAX that DHL charge.

on the fish scales 11.5kgs, but like all fish stories maybe a little heaver than really is..:ph34r:.

on a different note I'm filling up the gearbox and manufactures guide says ATF, is there a better product for racing application...

Kayne Barrie would be a good person to ask.

.small update

not much going on at the moment had to throw down 90m2 of concrete as the grass and mud got to much.

moulded the fibre glass rear guards together and fitted doors and front guards.

front and rear bumpers are a bit tricky as they require a little lateral thinking on how to attach with 1/3 turn clips.
