So when I left nz I still had my plates with me as none of my mates had BMW's

This build has been going on for a few months now and this is what the plates are on now

320i Facelift Coupe

What a tease. Where are the details?

Is that the cast manifolds fliped over?

Looks like fun

Haha ;) details soon.

It is a custom made exhaust manifold with equal length pipes.

2.5" dump pipe into a 2.5" exhaust

Will be running 5psi for the first week or so then some bigger numbers

Fair enough

I used a similar sized turbo on my last setup and had next to no lag

Your not worried about boost tapering off at higher revs?

I would have thought the dsr430 would have been a better match

nissan guys use them and still have a low boost thresh hold

Have you lowered compression or standard C/R?

Not worried at all. A friends 04 Sti runs on 18psi with a smaller turbo and doesn't have any boost tapering off.

C/R hasnt been changed at all yet. Might lower it when looking for bigger HP.

Good ideas on lowering C/R?, I have heard of the thicker gasket trick

This is my best mates car Andrew. His name is Marc "MarcG" im just speaking on behalf as he doesnt use BS at all

What is everyones guesses for HPatw on 5psi? Id say 220-250hp?

Subaru is a different kettle of fish tbh

Mine has a similar size turbo to dsr380 and i have full boost by 3500 and it holds solid

till redline and i could probably bring that down lower with a little more tuning

Put simply with a smaller turbo your going to need more boost

to reach your hp goals so if you want to retain that turbo

and shoot for big hp either lower your compression

or use a bigger turbo

Thicker hg with arp studs works fine going off the usa forums

Lower CR pistons would be best

Im using standard CR with buckets of overlap and a big mumma turbo

for my current build

What are you doing for tuning?

Standard m50 ECU atm. Its only early stages. Marcs going to see how it runs on 5psi

Just to confirm it is in NZ. Resides in east Auckland. If they did the Manifold work then this is probably it. You from Auckland crunchy?

Really? Got any pictures?

From what Marc has told me it has the m50 manifold flipped and into 2 pipes then into the turbo

Good to the DRPHTA plates back to good use. Been seeing it round heaps

Should see it more soon!

Aiming to be started tomorrow

The m50 was running prior to the Turbo being put on. So it was run up on Sunday again with the Turbo

Just needs an exhaust now lol... and a e21 Brake booster and she will be street legal

Anyone have a decent priced e21 booster?
