'01 325i Motorsport wagon

Recommended Posts

I recently bought an E46 325i wagon, and hadn't put any photos up yet.

Today I finished polishing the lip on the wheels to remove clear coat imperfections, so took a couple of photos.

(Not the iPhone's best work, but gives an idea)

It's got:

18" M-parallel wheels

Remus quad exhaust

Bilstein shortened shocks

Black grille, tints etc.

Very nice indeed.

Although I think the rear exhaust hangs down a bit too much. Got another angle of the back?

awesome mate, m-parallels suite the touring perfect. ^ would also be keen to see another view of the quad exhaust

Looks great - certainly better with these wheels than the ones you got it with

Cheers guys.

The exhaust sounds similar to my old 330i, maybe 15% louder.

It's just a good rumble.

Also, I don't have any more photos of the back at the moment.

The exhaust does sit low, but it looks better in person than in those photos!

*Edit*

A quick Google found this, which is the same setup.

After a road trip last weekend, the wagon got a clean today.

Here are some photos (including the Remus as asked).

Nothing new since the last photos - money has been spent on maintenance instead.

Cant go wrong with an E46 Touring!

Although, just my opinion but I would work at getting the exhaust tips to sit 1-2" higher, more in the black cut out so they sit level with the bottom of the bumper, then they would look more at home.

Although I guess your limited with the space for how high they can sit with the tyre well being there.

Yeah I did briefly consider it, but space is pretty limited as you suggested.

Also then the tips would sit quite close to the paintwork as opposed to the black diffuser which I don't really want to modify.

Yeah fair call. On your touring is the diffuser section removable or a fixed part of the bumper?

Curious as at the moment on my E36 bumper I am having the diffuser part that can be removed modified by the panel shop guys to make way for the twin exhaust outlets

That's one sexy touring, nice job!

Yep nice Simon. My only constructive critisizm too is that the exhausts would look more integrated being higher

Could you reduce the tip diameter a little maybe, what are they?. As it might give you the clearance you need to tuck them up with out spoiling the look just a thought.

Cheers guys.

Michael, RealOEM says the diffuser is a separate piece, and is shared between the touring & sedan.

I could look into doing that with the exhaust I guess. I quite like the Remus tips, so would be more inclined to raise them and try manipulating them inwards slightly, then just cutting more of the diffuser away. At the moment it doesn't bother me enough though!

since everyone is putting their 2c in....

I would have gone for single tips on each side, per the Motorsport kitted E9* 335i/d's

It is a very smart looking wagon, good work on keeping the mods tasteful.

Yeah I actually didn't put the exhaust on - the previous owner did.

Cheers though - it's just so good having a wagon.

It's beautiful!

If you're concerned about the exhaust aesthetics, I'll just leave this here...

really nice wagon Simon.

I appreciate subtle improvements.

But I have to agree with the exhaust tip comments...just not quite right.

The black wagon shows the way to go.

Cheers guys - that black one is a good example.

Might have to go check there's no reason not to...
