Small world man! My shop is on the same street too, chances are we wander past each other all the time.

Update time! Spent a bit of time the other day trimming & fitting the rear interior (carpets, seat base & panels). Starting to look normal again..!

I butchered the rear cards to make them fit past the cage, no other way unfortunately. Off to the trim repairer next to get this fixed up (it's a bit beyond my abilities). Boot carpet & trims fitted:

Also the steering wheel turned up so I fitted it. Looks good, and all the buttons work a-ok!

Test fit (ignore the airbag gap this is now sorted):

This was the problem:

Glued the velvet side trims with ADOS contact adhesive, this has been annoying me for ages:

My Storm gearknob turned up too. It's so damn heavy!! Looks good in the darker finish imo, should suit the car.

I've also bought a whole lot of safety stuff in the past few weeks:

Tegiwa m3 cup canards have arrived! This is my 3rd set of canards for this car, but only the 2nd set actually made for this bumper. You'd think I would have learnt by now...

I went with plastic rather than carbon fiber like the other sets, these are quite likely going to be hidden under the AGT carbon set

Here's what they'll look like:

And with my AGT carbon dive planes on top:

Also can't remember if I shared this before or not, present from Kayne Barrie when he rebuilt this motor last year. Those with a keen engineering eye may spot something wrong here ?

I applied paint protection film to the carbon ashtray cover today. It's been annoying me how soft the clear coat is, and it swirls and attracts fingerprints super-easily. Hopefully this'll make it better.

Had a little damage to the front spoiler after the Gumboot Rally so pulled the bumper and had a go at fiberglassing the spoiler whilst on the bumper. I've fixed it before (off the bumper) but adhered it rather too well so don't want to remove & reattach if I can avoid it.

Good chance to clean behind the bumper too, it was pretty dusty and gross.

Completely unrelated we won the 'too low for gumboot' award haha

Cool trophy!

Is the bumper support brace composite? Same on all e46's do you know?

Yep the later model m3's came with this kind of carbon kevlar bumper support. Not sure if it's the same on all e46's bro?

Just updating this thread, missed a few things. Safety gear pretty much sussed, almost ready for track! Just gotta pass scruitineering then we are good.

Cage homolgated a-ok. Got some 3d printed collars to hold harnesses in place.

44159326492_86e939a6c4_b.jpg

Gotta sort out some trim issues on the rear cards, I had to cut them up to fit behind rollcage.

Ive also sent my old oem steering wheel in to the trim shop to be restored. There was nothing too wrong with it, but I’d like to have it in new condition as a spare to go with all the rest of the oem parts.

43429884084_02c1683913_b.jpg

I have also picked up a spare front bumper which is finally at the panelbeaters getting painted (thanks again @JohnM575) and another oem bonnet to have a play with.

Next up, another set of semis and a bit more time on the track..!

More carbon fiber goodness on the way! I'm a bit fed up with how the oem panels fit behind the cage (they're not perfect). The only real fix is to remove the panels and replace them. I already have carbon fiber rear armrests which'll look quite nice on the panels. I'll also fit the oem speakers, they're quite clever how they screw together!

Had a play around tonight fitting up different combinations of the steering wheel trim. Decided on the full carbon look, for now..! It's a bit overkill, but it does work with the rest of the carbon fiber.

Edit: couple of outside shots too. I'm planning to change up aero again soon, have some different parts underway.

Some better pics for an insta feature thing for the guy who made my wheel. Pretty happy with the interior as it is now. Got talking to Kayne Barrie at the BMWCC meet today (he rebuild my motor last year), now I want shorter gears and a better diff. It never ends...!

Nice.

If you swap out your diff I'm interested in your existing cw and pinion.

Did a little switcharoo this arvo, removed some decals and swapped the boot lid. Running the e92 18’s for that super smooth look. Loving how little effort this thing takes to swap around, keeps someone who’s consistently getting bored like myself entertained !

I quite like both wheels sets.

I just wonder what the E92 rims would look like with the CSL colour. Hmmm
