Here's some cracks in the welds where the floor was repaired last time ....

And where Ray's up to with plates:

Fronts done and reinforced - now to work on the rest. I have videos of the damage & the factory clearance to the rear subframe bolts - it's really bad haha.

After this, Ray's building a boot section for the cage to tie the rear strut towers together & ensure this sh*t doesn't happen again.

Awesome.

Bloody E36/E46 foor cracks! It's really a mandatory check and repair when acquiring these cars now days.

In the final months of my E36 I was going to make a rear brace doing exactly that, just drew something up on the computer and started to cut pipe to spec but never finished as I sold it for my Soarer later that year.

That floor ain’t tearing no more. Swapped on the e9x 18’s for a bit.

Next up, try not to break anything for a while..

So far in the last couple of months I have a freshly built diff, driveshaft bits replaced and balanced, whole lot of welding and plating and new reinforcement for the rear. That’s enough for a while methinks.

No doubt it’ll be a bit different now compared to the last time I tracked it !

Man, that article is full of fail.

Besides that some of those BaT auctions are closer to stupid than they are representative, some people with (way) too much money.

Rich kid hears the E46 M3 is the car of the moment, rick kid likes blue, rich kid is impatient, rich kit pays way, way, way over the odds to have instant satisfaction, rich kid writes off an otherwise nice car 2 months later. Repeat.

Reads like something he came up with in a dream. Never mind the fact that BMW produced a sh*t tonne of them. He should be buying, financing, selling assets and buying to buy all the M3's he can get his hands on. Tripling your money in 3 years, cant pass that up.

???

Considering you can buy an e46 M3 in NZ for less than an e36 M3 these days I'm not too bitter. ?

I'm surprised @HELLBM liked your post, it leaves the impression they think that price will become commonly achievable. I'm pretty sure they know better than that.

We all know better than that.

I had a go painting up the new bracing myself on Saturday after work

Also chopped up boot floor & rubber carpet into multiple sections to fit around brace. Factory fresh.

Not bad. Swapped on semi slicks and went for a track experience thing at Hampton Downs y'day, was great fun. This car handles like it's on rails now, I'm impressed..!
