It could just be the oil separator, but that IS a major job to do the bit in the back of the crankcase, that means you may as well do all the other common failure items... valley pan gasket, the leaky coolant hose under there, and the timing chain tensioners, since it's half apart anyway. These days and depending on age/kms/value e.t.c a 7k bill on a 7k car would install a can of petrol and light a match and like the wee Asian dude says "walk away" Fark that! At least his is a touring though, it's worth a bit more..... but it's done nearly 300K too. Tidy though. I still prefer to maintain an old car I know, than buy a newer one I don't. 7K on a 7K car is still only 7K, still cheaper than a new car (or ute ).
