Recents:

Z3 Rack swap, New tie rods, boots.

M3 Offset Lollipop CAB's and new Control arms.

Front end is ALOT tighter now and handles awesome. Steering is very responsive. Still on the hunt for a rear end to re-bush at some stage... One day.

Here's a few extra shots from a couple months back with Andy's Vert. I really need to get my rear bumper resprayed too...ffs.

Sent my LSD up to Kayne B to rebuild and add extra friction plates. Wish I had a before photo, The diff was originally from a near 400,000km M325i, then spent 2 years in my touring. Was covered in oil, completely dirty and I wasn't really sure it had any lock up left in it. Looks brand new now. Very impressed. Big thanks to Hans for getting it up there and back for me.

Have one part of the loom left which should hopefully arrive tomorrow. I've been blown away how much work is involved in doing this, I definitely underestimated it but I'm in too deep now haha. The wiring is just crazy, bits all over the place. Once I get that final loom all the air intake side can finally go on.

That motors looks right at home in there, they're a nice looking engine.

You'll enjoy the diff, had kayne do exactly the same on mine.

It's a good looking car, don't ever sell it to get married or something stupid like that. You can always sleep in the back!

Yup, have them already probably a couple pages back. Just need one more section of the loom and then figuring out where everything goes and I can put everything back in. Hopefully have it going in the next few weeks, Just more and more things that need doing. Change one thing then down the line something else needs to be done, then something else.

Where did you guys place your Driveshaft loops?

Wow. Impressive project. Best of luck with the last few things - I'm sure it'll be worth it in the long run. :)

Front one was double bolted in the tunnel with high tensile bolts and rear is covered... My cert was done 5 years ago and as I understand the rules have changed yet again, ask westy as his is done more recently.

You will need 2 hoops. One just behind the guibo and the other behind the centre hanger bearing/universal. Efn ridiculous IMO !! Just some knuckle dragging pen pushing ignoramus in a non-essential government office making efn ridiculous rules. Culling is required....

Lots more done over the last week, It's now drive-line wise completed. Wiring is all here, got the missing trans/o2 loom from an SMG M3 car and it's giant..

I plugged it all in for a test fire since I was at that point, initially would only get it to crank without fuel or spark, though the pump was priming each time. Dug around and found I missed a huge connector between 2 looms and another at the same plug for the coil loom. Pretty confusing because there is so many damn looms (4) and with the SMG one there is a big bunch of stuff obviously can't plug in.

So now it's all running finally, stoked. I first panicked the DME wasn't right or the adapter loom was wrong or something, luckily my own amateur mistake.

Since it goes I could finally find somewhere to put this giant mess of wiring.. Engine side it's pretty tidy, There's almost nothing that goes across to the driver side.

But I now possibly sacrifice having a glovebox, a compromise I don't mind living with.

Can't wait to take it for a spin, hopefully in a few more weeks

99% Done for now, Majority of the last freakin month and a half was getting the exhaust headers fitted with the V bands to sit in a suitable space, Plus they are an absolute nightmare to fit with the motor in. Hopefully won't be touching them for a long while. Also had the Driveshaft hoops done.

Went in for it's cert last week, didn't have any issues except for needing to provide some documentation for E30 vs Z3 rack to ensure no pivot points had been changed, Just emailed them the E30Wiki and a Googled picture of E30 vs Z3 rack which sufficed.

Today the cert plate was mounted :D

Actually doesn't ride as bad as I thought with coilovers, abit more noisy but handles well I missed the quick Z3 rack for sure after driving a fully stock E30 round for the last 6 months it's crazy how different they feel and how much better this one handles, very sharp responsive steering.

Still to do:

Look at raising the Idle RPM abit, Flywheel is noisy as hell and rattles until I give it the lightest bit of throttle to about 900 and it's good.

Finish the last 1/3rd of the exhaust from subframe back it's joined to my old 2.5" Coby + Magnaflow, too loud for my liking but I intended on getting some Borla mufflers from Summit racing early next year anyway.
