Cool comparison Ray.

Both great looking cars in their own right.

But somehow I like the Z3 M Coupe more.. it's just easier on the eye.

Definitely the Z3 m Coupe. I can`t get enough of it at the moment.

A stripped out Z4 would be one hell of a racecar otherwise it`s to pretty for my taste.

Z3 is a hotrod, a stand alone classic, and possibly the last mad creation BMW did that was actually good!

Z4 is more the Porsche Boxster, a great car you be happy to buy your wife.

Well put, the nothing about the Z4 rolls my wheels in the slightest.

I'm still convinced the Z3 was designed by three different design teams (front, middle and rear), none of whom talked to the other teams until the three sections were bought together...

So it's the S54B32 in the Z3M, Z4M, and E46 M3? - Having driven all 3 (Ray), which is your favourite?

My E36 actually has an RS4-esque sound. It's sure good fun!

Really, your single over head cam low revving Toyota V8 sounds like a high revving 400BHP Audi V8? I need to hear this thing, that is remarkable.

Well no, not in that regard obviously, but the exhaust is of the same layout so it has that sonorous off beat sound like an RS4 though the mid range.

FYI 1UZ is dual over head cam.

Well. I'm sure you will hear it one day.

1:Z3 with S54

2:E46 M3

3:Z4M

My other comparison chart is:

1:E46 M3 with S62

2:Z3 with S54

3:E46 M3 with SMG

4:Z4M
