Looks nice, tidy & neat colour too. Funny in that he's calling it a 2003 model / year (twice), but by 2003 its already had 7 services done............ ;):) Equates to $ 13906.97, plus shipping, plus any import duty, plus compliance costs, for a car that's done 206,000km. Which probably doesn't leave much change from the 20k NZ ones are for sale at........

Do they salt the roads in Scotland? If so I would get it checked thoroughly.

This looks to good to be true and I would almost guarantee that as soon as you email them they will tell you there is "a lot of interest and you are more than welcome to get car checked out bit if you want it then it's best you pay a deposit and then I will hold it for you" I could be wrong but it sounds like the same add I read time and time again when I was living in the Uk and bought cars.....

hmmm not bad. looks like it has heated front seats, but I thought only the leathers were??? id be asking for a look at the service records as at that kms itl be in need of a lot of suspention work I would say, more so if hes tracked it. just cost me about 1200-1500 in bushes just for the rear end. and that was just parts as I did the labour which is a fairly big job. whole subframe out etc

Haha, your a bit slow on the uptake Gavin. If this was what I was after I would have already bought it! ;) Its certainly late model and nice!

If I were you I would take a look and get an offer in asap. Funny how all the M3's online are automatically asking 20ish K from point of listing. It would seem that the sellers believe the year, K's and quality have no relation to price.........but the fact that not one of them has sold would say the market disagrees...... ;)

Best of luck Gavin!

The fact you are asking that question tells me you should probably take a mechanic with you or arrange to have it checked by BM workshop/other bmw specialist. In place of that, there are many good pages that outline what to look for on the E36's in general. Just remember....it is an old car and it WILL have things wrong with it. Don't nail the guy because the centre console is worn etc ;). Let me know how you go. I am very keen to hear.

Great advice^^^^ & I agree 100%............it just needs gone through with a fine tooth comb by some-one who really knows what they are doing. If they don't find much wrong with it, it's probably not bad value for money. If however some 'major stuff' doesn't get picked up, its probably got the potential to suck money outa ya quicker than blonde twins on a Queen St corner on a Friday night.......

Yea if you're not familiar with them def get it properly checked for that amount of coin! Like others have said if you do find faults it'll cost abit in repairs...

That's why I brought a reasonably tidy one that both I and owner knew needed things done so got it for a steal. And if it does ever owe me 20k it will be 100% mint!

Update :) ...WOW! WHAT A MACHINE!

Best car i have ever been for a ride in haha. 200kph on country roads out the back of Upper Hutt. The guy knows how to drive that's for sure.

AC Schnitzer exhaust sounds amazing. Car was in really nice condition inside and out. Runs really sweet, drives smooth enough with the extra bracing added.

He had a very thick stack of receipts from services and work carried out on the car.

A few things he talked about was he broke the diff bracket on the subframe doing a hill start, He got his engineer to weld a bigger one on and painted it. No cert or anything for it and has passed its last two WOFs with no mention on it.

He also said he hasn't done any valve clearance on it since owning it.

I'm still lost for words on how good of a ride it was :)
