Having just spent some time sourcing a '91 E31 850i, I think you will lucky to get your asking price, I'm afraid. Most of the 850s for sale over $15K have stayed for sale - even those with the more desirable M73 engine - regardless of condition. I think people are just scared off by the perceived (and real) cost of owning when at a time when the cost of living is so high. To put it into perspective, a '93 850i with full motorsport kit and only 55K kms on the clock sold was listed at only $15.5K by a dealer (although it was LHD). It did sell.
