Just trying to do some research before jumping into e30 ownership...

Where can I find a Timing Belt and water pump kit here in NZ (or shipped from overseas) and what can I expect to pay?

I got this one for my M20B25 and nothing has gone wrong yet!

You can see the kit contents on the website and what brands they are, but seemed to be good value for money (to me any way). It was on sale for me when I purchased it but cost me about $160-$200 including shipping.

The ECS kit comes to $300NZD after conversion (unless it's already in NZD, then it's $222)

What looks like a no name kit on trademe is $240

Kit on Trade Me doesn't seem to include the thermostat either.

Unfortunately I find that shipping is the annoying part as it boost the price up something chronic.

If you find something you want from Turners or ECS it may pay to ask around on Bimmersport first to see if anyone else wants to do an order - makes shipping a tad more cheaper.

EDIT: I think when I purchased the kit from ECS tuning it was cheaper due to the way the dollar was at that point of time.

I bought my water pump and timing belt kit from pelicanparts.com
Not sure what it cost exactly as I was buying other parts as well, however I have used Pelican before for other things and have found them to be a little cheaper than ECS in the shipping side of things.

Bought that kit and was the first thing installed after I bought my car. It's a kit NZAD assemble themselves but it is a Gates belt and GMB waterpump (both well known brands). My mechanic had a few issues with the oil seals supplied but NZAD assure me the seals are good.

The timing belt kit comes with the tensioner too. Waterpump comes with a gasket if you get the right one.

Looks like you'd just be missing the thermostat which definitely isn't worth $100. Also that coolant additive isn't worth buying from overseas and probably weighs a bit which would boost the shipping cost up

Pelican is cheap providing you are buying some other stuff too, otherwise it is usually cost neutral to your NZ options.

When buying new parts, try Paul at Milland, and Gavin at EuroItalian. Both do NZ Couriers overnight shipping NZ wide

I buy from Gavin as the parts he sells are quality items and he stands behind them. If there are any issues it gets sorted quickly unlike trying to sort issues with an overseas seller.

Yeah just get them from Gavin. His prices are cheap anyway. He's even swapped parts I've ordered incorrectly from overseas for some of his ones. Support the people that support us.
