E30 M3 Just Popped Up On TradeMe

Steering wheel is still on the correct side, but no dog-leg box unfortunately. If those Kms can be verified as accurate could make it worthwhile, car looks to be in very good condition.

Only thing that puts me off is the "boy ricer" additions - the wheels (don't suit the E30 to me) the steering wheel, extra gauge, etc. no biggie to put back to original, or more period styles but I wonder what else has been played with at the same time?

Rose City are one of the better dealers in Palmy, specialise in high-perfomance cars, have been involved in motorsports for years, and get some of the nicer stuff out of Japan.

Wheels are MK Motorsport, reasonably well known in BMW circles, i am surprised you haven't heard of them before Jon. Admittedly, they are 5 stud only, so M3 would be only E30 they fit.

Looks like a good car to be honest. I am not in the market for one just yet so can't comment on price other than they seem to be rising faster than my income!

This one was probably assembled for the American market, apparently they didn't like the dogleg boxes.

Bruce, Rose City, had (has) a M635i manual for some time too.

Looking at the aftermarket add-ons I would suggest it's some in from Japan. US version has "unleaded gasoline only" on the fuel gauge as well.

I kinda recognise the wheels, and just don't like them, but then I'm an annoying M3 purist on stuff like that.

And the head-unit is also too modern and gaudy for me! Again no biggie and easy to swap out.

Looks like a euro spec M3 it has the extra fuel tank and indicator lights in the front guards and no cruse control x Japan would be my best guess as well.

I am not to keen on the extras either not really any special items.

What surprises me is how little effort in presentation and cleaning has been made for a 50k classic car.

I am always very weary of old cars coming from Japan.

You never know to what standard the car was looked after. Repairs in Japan can be and often are of very low standard.

the steering wheel is the biggest eyesore, followed closely by the extra guage then the headunit.

wheels are okay and easily sold and replaced so not a dealbreaker.

all in all a nice e30 m3.

Tidy R32s can be had for as low as 16K on tardme. Turbo Supras are shocking, still around 20K for a 20 year old one of them, and more if its manual.
