@Palazzo - where in Auckland are you? If James - @thorburn - can help, I may be able to relay the 'pattern' to him.

Mt Albert or the city. I’ll have to find it, it’s in the garage somewhere.

I've made my own for my e46 out of 3mm aluminium.

3mm ali is not going to protect against a major rally crash but it also acts as a underbody tray to aid in aero, and aid in cooling.

Lol didn't know this thread came back up.  Just for interests sake I bought a red46 one some time ago and its pretty decent.  Ain't no rally sump plate but protects most scenarios for street car - If you welded a bar in chassis rail to chassis rail and bolted to that then it would be solid af rally spec haha.

But yeah if someone wants to replicate it can borrow it, don't mind

another consideration, i saw on a US forum that a guy had a sump guard, was attached to the chassis rails, nice and solid right, yep saved his sump, at the expense of the body which bent.

I have never run a sump guard in any of my E30s, (3 of them M52 swapped), and never busted a pan. you don't need one if you know how to drive properly and your cars suspension is road legal.

Wondering if there was any update on this or if anyone had decided to fab their own? Had a close shave recently...
