It's the correct colour for an ageing wine, I'd grant you that, a fine Cabernet I'd say. +1 this. The buyer of the E36 M3 wont be looking to buy an E46 at all. Even I'm coming to terms with the fact that this is a very fine line, the E46 M3 does have a lot going for it. I really hope it does sell for the asking price, it will be a great benchmark and will be clear evidence the the price of good ones is going up. And I think mine is a good one. When a car has been in storage for 5 years it always has a project list. And when an E36 ages it always has a project list because normal maintenance only cover 50% of the things that go wrong. If this thing has original shocks, springs, VANOS, clutch, headliner, exterior trim, glovebox, air-con, the list goes on then it certainly has a project list. I see you lot have moved onto a new subject now, the E30 M3 Sport EVO. Glad to hear there are no chips, I was just basing my assessment on your grumpy answers/comments in the TM auction and here in this thread. Doesn't come across very well. To be honest I think you underestimate the knowledge of the audience here and to be fair your (ex) car has an unknown service history so you should have expected scepticism about a price no other similar car has come close to in the last few years. My drivetrain, bushes, clutch, VANOS, suspension, brakes, etc, etc have all been rebuilt or replaced and I'd still not expect to get for mine what you were asking for yours.
