E91 Battery

Recommended Posts

Currently has a 70Ah battery in our 2006 E91 325i but seems to need replacing.

Can I change it for an 80Ah or 90Ah?

Does it require some kind of programming?

Any recommendations on where to get this one or can I simply buy a battery myself and swap it over?

I called the dealers and it was 400 odd dollars so wondering if theres a cheaper option.

Thanks!

You can't go cheap. The battery needs registering to the vehicle and to change amperage requires coding

I think you're supposed to code it.

There's a procedure to reset the battery life so itknows there is a new batter, and there are other parameters for type and Ah rating I believe.

Maybe ask one of the places like BM workshop, I'm sure they can do better than $400, that's crazy...

260+gst at bm workshop botany thats including fitting and coding.

At the dealers it was 446+gst just for the battery.

Lol...
