So far sticky vanos but thats just a clean and usually from bad servicing

They drive like crap on run flats but ok on normal tyres

Gearboxes are a bit jolty (common on all)

So... just the mechanical bits then - everything else is fine! Until it all sags and drops apart.

They just aren't like the good old days. I need a low kms, well maintained, 1 owner E34 manual V8 touring, really cheap. Perfect.

OP is referring to the 325i so no issues with injectors, fuel pumps, stem seals , valve gear so its not all doom and gloom.

how do you figure that? is the 2.5l N52 immune to the vaguaries of the 3.0 N52?

Possibly Glen misread the thread title, hence some of the faults pointed out such as the high pressure fuel pump do not apply since the 325i has the n52 and does not have direct fuel injection and therefore no high pressure pump fitted.

Yes I did misread the OP Was a hard day yesterday splitting and storing fire wood.... it gave you more to argue about though :P
