Diff + Gearbox Ratios

Recommended Posts

I hope this is the correct place to post this, but online I have come across a lot of conflicting info. I am running a GETRAG 220 gearbox and I am wanting to know if the final drive in 5th is 1:1 as quoted by a lot of online sources saying all GETRAGS are 1:1. However I have seen some reports that seem to think that 4th is 1:1 and 5th is 0.81:1. I am definitely loosing my 4.44 auto diff, however the replacement diff I have found is a 3.91 so its a little shorter than I was looking for. If the Getrag box is indeed over driven then this shouldn't be a problem however as this will be my daily driver and occasional track day warrior I am not wanting to be doing ridiculous RPM's at 100kph!

I would be interested in your 4.44 auto diff if you looking for a seller

You may have your thinking about the impacts of going to a 3.91 diff around the wrong way.

If you have a 4.44 ratio diff now and will be going to a 3.91, your 100 km/h revs will be lower with the 3.91 diff installed.

Would just the crown wheel and pinion fit?
