95 E38 740i SOLD

Recommended Posts

SOLD>>
Selling my 1995 740i E38.
I've had a lot of enjoyment out of this car but my needs have changed so it's time it went.
It's done 219000kms and this will continue to go up as I drive it daily.
Fresh WOF and about 5 months Reg left on it.
Just had a oil and filter change done.
Starts first time every time. This has been one of the most reliable cars I've owned.

I've put in the chromeline interior and also fitted the wooden porn lights, wooden front map light with amber led's and wooden grab handles from a 750il. I've also fitted the 16:9 display.

The wiring for the S/EDC above the shocks was perished so it's been disconnected so it's permanently in sport mode. I like it but it may be a bit harsh for some.

The bad.
It sometimes has the BMW shimmy between 80-95km. I may fix this before its sold but if I do the cost of parts and labor will go onto the purchase price.
The paint is bad. It has crazy cracks on the boot, front of the bonnet and on one back guard but it hasn't gone through the clear coat. Caused by to much color coat so the paint couldn't expand and shrink in the weather(or so I was told). I'll take some pics.

Still, for all its cosmetic faults it still cleans up nice.

Will come with the Style 32's. The BBS RC's have gone onto another car so aren't for sale.

That's a big call Dave - you've put a lot of effort into it!

Yeah. I've decided to keep the 750i after all. I need a van which will become my daily and given it's rarity the 750i makes more sense as a weekend cruiser..

It's taken a while for me to come to grips with it but at the end of the day I can always get another 740i, I may never find another 750i though.

good thinking, Dave.  Damn, that's tempting. GLWS.

A van as your daily?  Some changes afoot?  Look forward to catching up soon.

I do a bit of possum trapping on the side. It's good pocket money and I enjoy being out in the bush. I really want a 4x4 van so I can get into some areas I really cant access in a 2wd V8 BMW..lol Some of the places I go to are so far away it makes scence to camp for a few days and I'm getting to old to be sleeping in a tent on the ground so a converted 4x4 van will be perfect. All the comforts of home but mobile and 4WD. Sounds perfect..:-)

thermarest, down bag with breathable shell, macpac tent.  luxury you can afford.

Yep, hard to beat 4x4 diesel van for good access and mobile accommodation.

You should earn a knighthood for persevering with possum trapping, Dave, and farmers should be buying you beers.

lol, I wish it were so Olaf. These days with the way H&S is most farmers tend to pucker up at the thought of letting someone on their land.

I've been offered $2500 cash from a guy in Auckland. I'm going to take it but thought I'd make the offer at that price here as well. First up first served.

$2500 is a steal! But I really don't need a 3rd car or a 740i...

And to think there's a guy trying to sell a 728i for $12k and you're struggling to get $3k.

I don't think i could justify 2 barges, otherwise I would probably would of bought it for a daily. I bought a iL version of this 4 years ago for 4.5k, same year,k's,similar options.
