What are your biggest pleasures of owning a BMW?

Recommended Posts

Still waiting for mine to be ready, but wanting to build up my excitement.

For me is looking forward to the driving pleasure I felt in the two short test drives, but doing it every day.

A day without a check engine light...

Personally I like the quality of feel you get from the interior and build as you ride along. It's just a nice, comfortable place to be.

The solid clunk when you shut the door. The relative quiet on the open road.

Driving the 'monster in stealth' after time spent driving the HSV or Monaro. Then you realise what the Germans have got sooo right for sooo long... and the 500hp V10 grow X2l!! haha :D

Gear box ratios that were chosen to work with the other gears, not chosen to pass an emission test or obtain a fuel ecomomy figure.

Its gone now, but the E36 M3.... that engine is a work of art. Revs like a Honda, but pulls like a freight train. Always amazes me watching the dyno run of my car, it just keeps on revving. It was also the small things, like the driver-centric dash layout, and the solid feel of everything (also applied to my E46 and E39)

Small touches. Example - warning light comes on and tells me the front left park light is out (which is very handy to know thank you BMW). Even better is the box of spare lights in the boot so I can replace it immediately and refill the box later.

Oil filter location.

Finally getting a problem fixed even if the next problem is already raising its ugly head. Not positive I know but my BMW life seems to be that way at present :(

I thought that was just for Audi drivers now.

Edit:  Haha just noticed you also have an Audi.

Have just signed off on an E60 M5.

V10 limiter bashing ahoy!!

To be honest though, the mix of handling, luxury and x factor (V10, SMG, etc.)

Just driving it at present. Getting in it after a extended period and taking a deep breath of BMW.

In theory the warranty should pay for the failure of 1 bearing...  I might just have to fork out multiple excesses if more than one earing fails :D

Parking in mobility parks, tailgating, brake-testing tailgaters, taking up two fuel pump stations and paying with coins.

I'm in a BMW bitches. Respect My Authoritah.

Mine, TBH, the E30 is the only one that was special. I really liked looking at it in the garage, Lachssilber Metallic on a E30 is a nice thing. So the look of a classic BMW.
