zero 1160 Report post Posted January 9, 2017 The sky is the limit, It depends on what you need - sparkplugs, air filter, cabin filter, diff fluid, gearbox fluid, brake flush etc. A good bmw mechanic will go over the car with a fine tooth comb and let you know what needs replacing. If it's the cheapest possible option you're after, you're probably asking the wrong people! Conor's suggest of Glenn @ Botany is an excellent one. If you want someone to have a quick look over the car, I work in Papatoetoe and would be happy to do that. huff3r 347 Report post Posted January 9, 2017 If it's the cheapest possible option it's $20 for castrol modern engine oil at Repco at the moment, and about $20-30 for a filter. M40s don't even need to be lifted up to do an oil change, M20s a jack and two jack stands will suffice. If you don't know what you are doing however, then go see Glenn. _ethrty-Andy_ 2122 Report post Posted January 10, 2017 you can spend as much or as little as you like. if an inspection two service as prescribed in your owners manual is what you are after, then you will be looking around the $1600 mark i would think including labour, but since i have never paid anyone to do it before its a number i have guessed. give us an idea of what you are looking for. a simple oil change (which is not and never has been a "service" contrary to many kiwis beliefs), a full lube, or an inspection one or two. if you have no record of the brakes and the power steering fluid being changed, it is well worth doing. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
