Tyre recommendations for E39 530i Msport please..

Recommended Posts

Thanks guys...that gives me another couple of brands to weigh up.

I am not seeking the ultimate tyre...just something which offers bang for buck on this particular car (E39 530i Msport) ...I drive defensively on public roads, which I do for a living...avoiding Chinese suicide pilots on a daily basis...tomorrow it is 600ks return Queenstown-Milford Sound in a 7 Series.

To scare myself witless, I have an endurance race car

Thanks for all the advice.

Nitto NT555 is available in 255/40/17 and 235/45/17 the 235 would work on a 7.5 inch rim, definitely on a 8 inch. My friend has a them on an Audi S6, he was very happy with them and he pushes his car. He had Pirellis before that.

Agree with William  on the Nittos. I am running Nitto Invos currently on the 1 series because I had them and its the right size but its got nothing on the bridgestones or even the ze912 falkens in my opinion considering how expensive they are. The falken ze912 on my e39 are much nicer imo

Over the years on various e39's i've had :

Dunlop dz101- shyte in the wet

Falken fk452 - decent

Toyo T1r's - shyte in the wet

Nitto's - shyte in the wet

Michelin Pilot Super Sport - amazing in wet and dry, too soft on track.

Getting a set of the new Michelin PS4's fitted tomorrow, will let you know how they go.

Concur on Nitto.  Too hard for NZ conditions.

OK in dry, not in wet.
