A 'normal' M6 just isn't enough, so ....

http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1271814284.htm

$45K for a modified NZ new 2005 M6 with 73Kms on it.

Well looked after too, clutch and flywheel done  - and with all the stock parts coming with it if you want to restore it to standard. Mods are:

  • Eisenmann race oval exhaust
  • K&N drop in filters
  • Primary catless Headers with Evolve stage 3 MAF delete AlphaN ECU tune
  • H&R Lowering springs
  • RD Sport front and rear adjustable stablizers

"This M6 accelerates considerably faster than stock standard M6, with AlphaN the throttle response is improved dramatically, the typical pedal delay of a DBW car is eliminated and feels very accurate and agile, brings the true characteristics of individual throttle bodied intakes. I suggest you test other M6's then come try this one out. You will be amazed. Rev limit increased to 8500rpm. Primary catless headers with stage 3 EvolveR ECU tune, the car reaches over 330kph. This is the best ECU tune available for the V10. Approx 575HP at the crank. Also uses less fuel than stock for normal driving :) "

I'm still not a fan of blacking stuff out on Bimmers. If I was a gangster I'd be into it tho.

I DO like the vanity plate :)

that would be pretty awesome. I'd want cats, though.  Call me a greenie (with a V10) if you must...

Why? Theres no benefit to the car by having cats. Best not even have a V10 M6 if you care about the environment lol.

Those M6s are f**k ugly, but its a cool color. Better than black or silver.

that's the irony, isn't it?  I see a large difference in the environmental responsibility of burning 27l/100km round town, and burning 27l/100km round town with extra added gassing your friends/family/neighbours with added Toluene (a known carcinogen) in the exhaust output. :o

I had to look it up, out of curiosity.  Seems even the NZ Rego peops are viking/gingaphobic, they have this vehicle described as 'Red'.

I wonder if there's a difference between e60 'Active Steering' and 'Hydro-Steering Sevotronic'?

Active steering changes the actual steering ratio according to speed. The servotronic steering on M cars is fixed ratio, changing only the steering weight (heavier at higher speeds),

Cool colour for sure, but I don't think it suits the M6.

There is an E60 M5 that parks in Sky City that is a dark orange colour and it also doesn't suit the car at all.

Maybe they would be better without the blacked out trim.

I've noticed the difference between the 545i and M5 - M5 feels meaty (part of that is the different steering wheel of course) and direct - but I'm still a bit chicken in the very tight carpark at work - partly the wider wheels and the steering is not as light at low speed. Could go up faster in the 545i.

There's a bronzy/brownish M5 in Johnsonville I think - sometimes is over here in Churton Park. It hasn't had bits blacked out and looks good IMHO. Blue is still best tho. :\

Less blackout is good.

Yeah, blue on white or white on white is the best combo for E60 M5 I reckon.

Not sure on the technical details but the M5 steering seems to be fairly static in behavior.  Feels great though.

The reason the M6 interior fails for me is the contrasting curves and straight lines.  The E60 interior has a lot of sharp edges with gentle curves.  The M6 still has a lot of the sharp edges but introduces too many tighter curves such as the centre console, dash line.  Couple that with the exterior and you get impression that the whole car is bulbous and overweight light a rolled, netted pork roast.

After owning 2 e39 M5's with and without cats, I'd definitely choose cats. The smell at times gets in the cabin and it's not pleasant.

All a matter of taste ;) - I don't think E63s are too bad at all. Here's one without black wheels (yay!) ; and another vehicle's interior which I think looks nicer with contrast.
