Ghenghis 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2017 I Have a 96 328i that has had the engine mounts , rear half of driveshaft/cross and centre bearing replaced . It has a knocking noise and vibration coming from the tunnel between 1st to 2nd change and from 2nd to 3rd . zero 1160 Report post Posted April 18, 2017 Overtightened gearbox sub frame bolts. Make sure they are tightened to the correct torque spec, which is not very tight. If they are over tightened you will experience the symptoms you describe. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
