I actually heard a 750i go up a road last night, had some mods, probably rear mufflers yanked off.

Actually sounded pretty cool

Hey Team

Sorry sort of a non related topic but had to share this.

The Team at Hartley Engines & Motorsport have finished this work of art for one of their clients. These guys are using the ITB set up as a template for my set up, just love the sound and am hoping mine to sound as awesome as this beast.

Enjoy :)

Hey Michael

from what i have read they are on par with BC, D2 etc

Good entry level for adjustable suspension. Again you can buy better ones but all depends what your wanting from them. I'm not planning on racing the car so didn't want to spend thousands on them.

Also Evan has looked after me well with the helps of getting other bits for the V12 and hasn't hesitated to help, so trust his word that his products that he stocks/sells are of good quality.

Another present today, a lot of searching for 2 weeks calling all wreckers with only one company having a full set.

Finally have them in my hands. Style 95's :)

Hey Everyone just a small update on where i am at with the build.

The short block is at the engineers currently in the process of getting the ITB fab up, currently drawing stage.

But am in a bit of a sicking point and would love for anyone to chime in any ideas or company that has the product.

So only thing holding me back with the bottom end being complete is the connecting rod bearings.

I have searched high and low but it seems like they do not manufacture these any more for the v12.

I found this part number that i think is the one that Im after bmw  11 24 1 288 925.

So called BMW nz and they quoted $1450 for a full set.

Looked at ecs tuning and they gonna cost $800nzd not including shipping.

Surely there is some thing out there more affordable?

has anyone else brought some at a cheaper price?

Let me know pretty please.

https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/product/e29253-new?product=11-24-1-288-925

If you are ordering from overseas get them soon as the Government is anouncing today that they are taxing overseas purchases under $400nzd.

You can split the order to make sure you are under the magic $400nzd mark

Also, try looking for aftermarket suppliers.

Someone must make something good that is cheaper than bmw

Hi Allan

its always good to share this info as i struggle to find info on this motor as not many people delve into it or share their experiences.

Mines a M73 and also found the Blue shell is the top bearing and 11241288924 bearing shell red is the bottom,

which i have purchased as well.

If I am reading this right, you might want too double check that, the colours of the shells normally refer to where they are in the tolerance band for the measurements - unless that is what you mean by the "top" being top tolerance and "bottom" being lower end of the tolerance?

Did you measure your clearances first to see which tolerance you needed on the bearing shells? I normally just order the yellow "mid-range" and they have normally worked ok.

Realoem Prices are seldom accurate FYI. Better to check the mentioned sites above.
