Mammoth task I know but I've always wondered how one of these V10's would go in the E38 chassis.

I was going to ask if the wheel and airbag would fit my E70... safe to assume they've deployed!

As an E60 M5 owner this makes me sad :( Exhaust is interesting but not while I have MBI in place. No mods!

Not the image I meant to post!

This one:

Although the V8 looks a lot tidier!

Just keep the original exhaust around, and if you need to make a big claim you can swap it back at a Pitstop or somewhere before you take it in.

If you have a good relationship with your workshop they might even take care of that for you...

I'm in a similar boat. Got one potential big claim, once it's sorted I might just go nuts... :D

if you view that as an acceptable way to do business/acceptable risk... more power to you.  You're talking about taking on multinational corporates.  A stain on your insurance record for insurance fraud isn't like demerit points on your driver's license.   :(

TBH the M5 already sounds great - and I need to spend a few $ getting little scrapes and wheels tidied so I'll leave this for now.
